I'm having the exact same problem. I tried opening the photoshop copy with EAs graphics editor and saving it as a .fsh, but that didn't work either. Well, it did save it a a .fsh file, but I tried to install it in the game with a batch file but it crashed.

I've seen many posts about this but no clear answers. I would appreciate the help too.

TWG, you can the plugin HERE. Copy it into your plugins folder (inside the fshed folder). I'm not working on the PC where I have it installed, or I'd give you the exact spot, but I think you'll find it okay. Let me know if you don't. And let us know how this works for you.

I used Jogar84's essential cyberface guide to make a cyberface I followed all of the instructions. Everything went fine until I went into Fshed and went to load the bmp to change it over to a fsh this is when I got the Stream Read Error I installed the plugin and it still does not load. I was wondering if there was another way to change a bmp over to a fsh.

I was having the exact same problem but I think I've found a work-around.

You will need to have the graphics importer plugin installed in your FshEd/plugins directory.

Open bigGUI and export the original .fsh file of your players head. It should be the same number as your original .orl and .ord files (i.e. c364.fsh or whatever)

Then start FshEd. Go to File -> Open and open the .fsh file you just exported. Then go to Tools -> Graphic Importer. Select your newly created face texture and you're good to go. Just do a File -> Save as your new face .fsh.

*Make sure your texture is in one of the formats supported by the plugin. If you used photoshop to create your face I recommend just using .psd format so you don't have to mess with any compression settings.

Hope this works for you :)

Hi, guys!

I have found a solution for the "Stream read error" when importing a bmp file into FshEd. It's caused by the resolution of the bmps (DPI to be exact). Most of the images created with Photoshop or other programs are 72 DPI or higher. I couldn't turn down the resolution in Photoshop, so I relied on a little program called "IrfanView" (http://www.irfanview.com/).

After opening an image with IrfanView, all you need to do is go under "Image" --> "Information". Delete the two values that are shown under "Resolution" and click on "Set". Now you can save your file and exit IrfanView.

Open FshEd again and now you are able to import the modified bmp into your cyberface or portrait project. Enjoy!
