Sac51
Javier Vazquez no hits the Astros; he retired the first 26 batters, then Royce Clayton committed a tough error on a play on the speedy pinch-hitter... But then he retired the last man for the no-hitter.
pez_dispenser21
To bad it couldn't be a perfect game. But it's baseball things happen.
Sac51
Well...it was tough...the release bottom went just a little too far when I tried to make the final out with Royce...thats tough...it was a one-hopper, Royce moved to the left made the catch and tried everything, his throw was a little off, so Chad Tracy could not steph on base...if Brad Ausmus grounded to short, Royce maybe got him by a couple of steps... BTW: The netx game-Russ Ortiz carried a no-hitter into the 7th, but he walk two or three guys before, so a "typical no-no situation" but the Astros singled on the very first pitch in the 7th and the no-no was gone, I one-hit them, with Russ Ortiz [8 Innings] and Jose Valverde by a score of 7-0 or so...great pitching!!!
