HR hitting

I'm playing as the Mets in All-Star mode. I'm kickin A** leading the east by 9 games, playing 35 games over .500, but I can't hit home runs worth diddly. I haven't hit a dinger in over a month and a half, and my top player only has 6 for the season. Obviously I'm smacking the ball well, but I can't get it to the wall or over it.

Any hints?

I keep pushing up on it. Once in awhile I hit a mistake (red dot) in the upper zone and it still won't go out. Strangest thing. I had no problems hitting HRs last year...must be the steroids thing.

hitting homeruns is all about timing and finding the right pitch to hit.. you dont only have to point up.. for inside you point up and slightly left and the opposite for outside pitches.. switch both the other way for lefty hitters.. I've mistimed a lot of swings on pitches that I could've easily hit out by just a bit and hit a long flyball or fouled it off

This is what I have learned about "hitting homeruns". At least this is the way MY game plays.

You have to look for your pitch. Period. If you have a right handed batter, with some power, and your trying to jack one over the left field wall, look for something up and in. When (and if) you get your pitch, push up and you can hit the ball with some authority. The physics in this game are pretty realistic from what I've learned.

Pushing up on a pitch low and outside gets you exactly what you would expect. A pop up to the right side. At least this is the way it's working for me.

i have never been able to hit one holding up. mine come from holding the stick up and in - and it can't be a pitch outside. you have to wait for a pitch you can handle...and if youre lucky enough to get a mistake, well, enjoy (9 out of 10 mistakes go out for me)

extended: what i usually do is take pitches until it's a first strike - unless they throw a mistake middle or in, then i'll swing. after strike one, if a hitter has more than 50 power and depending on game situations, i'll continue to look middle or in (doesn't have to be mistake now) with the stick angled up/in and let everything but my pitch go by. two strikes, i just go for pitches i can make contact with (and every now and again i've hit one of these out without holding the stick any direction - all timing at that point).

I've had the most success holding the stick up and in and looking for a pitch middle/in. I've had a little success up and away, if the pitch is out there. Straight up has not yielded any significant results.
