Do you know how to download a roster? If so download it. Next open the file up and see what the instructions say. Do that and then post your questions here.

I'll try to be a little more helpful than UncleMo (how soon he has forgotten that he was a newbie not so long ago and has asked plenty of questions himself.... ).

Getting the roster into the game depends upon what type of roster update it is. If it is a .SAV roster, then you import it in the game by copying the file to your My Documents / MVP Baseball 2005 folder and then using game's "Manage Roster" menu. I don't have the game open right now, but I believe it's accessed from the main game menu. If not, you can just poke around until you find it. Just remember that if you import the rosters this way, you will have to import them everytime you start the game.

If the roster update is a series of .dat files, then you simply copy the .dat files to your Program Files / EA Sports / MVP Baseball 2005 / data / database folder. These rosters will now be your default rosters and will be loaded by default whenever the game is started.
