jp_hidalgo
A-Rod, I-Rod, Jeter, Sosa and some others (Bonds i.e.) are fast but they don't usually participe in plays such as hit & runs, steals, etc. Most of them are so good hitters that they don't have too many chances to show their speed. A-Rod use to hit singles and receive BB in ocasions that he can't steal... if he can take a chance, the second bellows him :hail:
acpython1
By Position (MLB): Adam Eaton and Mike Hampton are the fastest pitchers (tie). Ivan Rodriguez is the fastest C, followed by Jason Kendall. Darin Erstad is the fastest 1B, followed by Erik Hinske. Chone Figgins is the fastest 2B, followed by Luis Castillo and Tony Womack. Ryan Freel is the fastest 3B, followed by Melvin Mora. Rafael Furcal is the fastest SS, followed by Jimmy Rollins and B.J. Upton. Carl Crawfort is the fastest LF, followed by Scott Podsednik. Joey Gathright is the fastest CF, followed by Juan Pierre. Ichiro is the fastest RF, followed by Roger Cedeno. Thanks to MVPedit for easy searching. By the way, Crawford and Ichiro are tied for the fastest MLB player, with a rating of 97. Lou Brock is the fastest player in the game (he's on the Heroes), with a rating of 99.

acpython1
Man, I'm not sure what rosters I'm using, but I have Jose Reyes having an 88. I remember him being really fast when I played my Mets dynasty. When I did my searches, I thought some of the players seemed slower than I remember, especially Rollins and Reyes, who I remember being in the mid-90s.
freshkicks
Carl Crawford and Joey Gathright (both OF) should both reach 100 speed within a couple years on your dynasty. Carlos Beltran is unstoppable on the basepaths. Hanley Ramirez from the Red Sox minors has great speed at SS (plus turns into basically the best player in the game). If you want a low-cost option, get Ryan Freel from the Reds who can play almost any position in the infield or outfield.

Spivey11
matt lecroy is mad fast I hope that you are being sarcastic - because LeCroy is probably the farthest from speedy that there is.
futzy99
I hope that you are being sarcastic - because LeCroy is probably the farthest from speedy that there is. Actually, I'd have to go with Met years Mo Vaughn on that one.
APR
Actually, I'd have to go with Met years Mo Vaughn on that one. I would say Jim Thome is pretty darn slow. He runs like a truck in park!
futzy99
I would say Jim Thome is pretty darn slow. He runs like a truck in park! Big Mo was much slower. In MVP03, I had him slide headfirst into second and his arms were off the ground, his stomach's so big.
bill
Reyes hurt his hamstrings and was put on the DL because he can't "run properly" his stride is screwy or something, perhaps thats why his rating is lower or he doesnt steal as much anymore. Seven7
Boston Catcher Rich Gedman in 1988 was the fastest player of all time.
philipsvon
Jason philips is the slowest guy. He runs like a turkey, not a young turkey, a 10-year-old turkey.

Kelvarr
For your 3B, you can go with BJ Upton from Tampa Bay. It is his 2nd position, but he starts with a 90+ speed, and has a decent arm and defense. His hitting comes around slow (in my 3rd season, he is finally up to .290-.300 with about 15 HR 130 games in), but he is nice. For Catcher, isn't Jason Kendall fast? FBeaule04
Boston Catcher Rich Gedman in 1988 was the fastest player of all time. I'm sorry, but the fastest Catcher of all time we're in Montréal. Nelson Santovenia and Darrin Fletcher were so slow that if you started them both at third and Otis Nixon at plate, he would end up at the plate before both! :-)
tnova4
Nook Logan is almost never rated up to his actual speed - if Ichiro is a 99, Logan should be a 97, or at least 93, but he's always listed around 84.
