Zelda55
I'm just wondering how EA Sports got Manny Ramirez's swing so wrong. I mean, come on, he's the cover guy. His stance is fine except he moves his legs more in real life, but he has one of the most distinct one-handed/semi-one-handed swings in the game. In MVP he always swings with two hands except on homers, which is just part of the home run "trot."
jp_hidalgo
Use mvpedit, change then that option called "Swing Type" in Appearance and set it in 5. That's all.
Zelda55
im not following what does that do?
jp_hidalgo
Do what I'm telling you. It changes the swing type, in this case, the release of the hands in the bat like Manny does. You are welcome. :wtg:
Zelda55
i changed it to swing type 5 but he still swings with both hands. i'm not all that familiar with mvpedit, but im pretty sure i did it right. i opened the ultimate roster 2.35.mbe and changed his swing type to 5...nothing changed. am i just exporting it wrong? i do export, dat files. jp_hidalgo
Export/Dat Files/ select "...mvp2005/data/database" folder and voilá. If not... try using swing type 2. I hope this help you.
MarkB
Apologies for the slight thread hijack. jp_hidalgo, do you know what each swing type represents? I believe that's been an on-going issue with users trying to figure out what each swing type represents. As far as I know, swing type 2 is the only one that has been figured out, with 2 representing a one-handed release. Thanks.
Zelda55
doesn't matter what swing type i set...i'm not quite sure how to work this mvpedit thing. i export the dat files but i don't see any of my changes in the game.
MarkB
Make sure you're exporting to datadatabase. You may also need to click Reset Rosters in-game.
NickD
And the changes will not affect dynasty, because it's default rosters being changed.
