choppinnecks
Ok first of all the only cyberface that has worked without a problem for me so far was O'Neill's. The Thurman Munson face would not work without the biggui program, so what I did was open models.big and maually imported the .fsh, .ord and .orl files into biggui and compressed them. That wouldn't work either so I used rebuild on the three files and it finally worked, but then when I went to edit Benito Santiago the game crashed. I tried it again and it crashed again. Also I can't get the Chone Figgins face to work at all. Every time I went into the game and tried to edit him it crashed. I tried the rebuild thing with him also but that didn't even work and when I went to edit Vlad the game crashed again. Apparently I'm doing something horribly wrong. Could someone please help me out on this. Also I guess I need to know what to backup before I can use the biggui program the right way. Thanks. cb
LOL, nice double post. I wish I had an answer for you, but sadly I don't do cyberfaces.
choppinnecks
Sorry about the double post but I'm new here and am also very new to the whole modding procedure. I've never even tried it before the last few days. I figured my question would be a simple one to answer, I just thought I was making a noobie mistake with the programs. Would it work if you put all the files for all the faces you want into biggui compressed them and then rebuilt every file in biggui?
spitoon
You should always back up your models.big file before you mod it. You can pull the orignal one off CD 1 if you need it. It's located in a file called "compressed.zip" on CD1. I haven't done very much as far as cyberfaces goes, but I do know that using the 'rebuild' command in BIGGui is a no-no. Simply make sure everything is compressed, but don't 'rebuild'. For some reason, files mysteriously become uncompressed so you just have to page through all of the files and find the ones that are uncompressed and fix them. big shmooz
One more thing, import only one set at a time. Rebuild, then do your next import. etc... Never do more than a set at a time, (a set = 3 files... .ord .orl .fsh) or this will also cause the files to become uncompressed. Edit... DO NOT REBUILD. When I said "rebuild" in the post, I meant to "compress". I goofed in my words, sorry.
UncleMo
someone told me to never rebuild. can you speak about that plz?

big shmooz
someone told me to never rebuild. can you speak about that plz? OOPS!!! My error in choosing words. I meant to say, "compress"... NOT "rebuild". Thank you for pointing it out. (hopefully before somebody messes up by rebuilding based on my advice!) P.S. I appreciate the sensitivity with which you chose the words you used, since I KNOW that you realized that I in fact I had goofed, but worded it so I could save face. LOL Actually I don't get insulted easily. Tell me straight out when I goof, it's perfectly alright.

choppinnecks
It seems a little to hard to put these faces into the game. I've been trying different things now for like four days and I still can't stop the game from crashing. Even the faces that come with the install.bat are not working correctly for me. I open up the install and I either get a fatal error or the screen comes up and disappears real fast. Now I've been getting the gfxpak error also. I've read somewhere in the forums someone said to make sure you have the gfxpak but a lot of the faces don't come with a gfxpak. So is the gfxpak character specific or can you use the same gfxpak for everyone? Someone also said to make the modes.big file a read only file to prevent files from decompressing but that didn't work either. The only face that has worked without a problem so far for me was O'Neill's. I think the O'Nell face came with eazip too, though I don't know if that has anything to do with the face installing correctly or not. Also O'Neill's had the install.bat, the only successful one I've had yet. Now I'm thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling the game and just getting rid of biggui all together. Is there another way to install faces other than biggui and if so can I have a step by step on how to do it? I will wait for a response before I do anything to see if I should keep biggui for some reason. Thanks for all of your help. It is much appreciated. :wall: :wall: :wall:

choppinnecks
1.compress with EAzip 2.import with EAgraph no BigGui at all :hail: I swear I'm not trying to be a pain in the **** but could you tell me exactly how to do that. When I double click eazip the screen comes up and disappears real fast much like the install.bat when not working correctly. I don't have EAgraph so is that why I can't open eazip? Tony3
EAzip is a command line program just like gfxpak.exe compress with the command here: eazip -c *.fsh *.ord *.orl :wtg:

choppinnecks
I started going that way about a month ago, I will never go back Yes but how do you go about entering that command into ea zip?
choppinnecks
EAzip is a command line program just like gfxpak.exe compress with the command here: eazip -c *.fsh *.ord *.orl :wtg: So if the face number was 111 the command would be eazip -c111.fsh -c111.ord -c111.orl Is that correct? choppinnecks
Ok I can't open eazip to enter the command I need to . Anyone have an idea why? I am running windows xp, is it possible to use eazip with xp?
choppinnecks
I guess people got sick of my questions but I figured out how to install the cyberfaces. Now what I don't understand is why you would need bigGUI or EAGE at all. I just installed them with install.bat, eazip, and gfxpak.
big shmooz
The purpose is for those who have 2,999 files in the models.big or in the portrait.big. If you have 2,999 files, the next time you try to use an install.bat with gfxpak, it will crash & say that gfzpak had to close. (& it won't install the files)
lilloreo
Big Shmooze, What chance is there that you could email your models file along with your roster with all the face #'s changed. You seem to be the only person that can install all the cyberfaces that I've come across. :hail: I'm a perfectionist and want to use just about all the faces available. I've reinstalled SEVERAL times and keep getting a messed up models file. :wall: thanks
biker_jim_uk
his models.big will be over 350Mb
chakfu
Should compressing with eazip and then importing with biggui work? I like biggui cause I can tell it not to overwrite files when importing a large bunch. (or can I do that in eagraph? lemme see, I don't think you can though)
