Energy level for players...

Quick query here. How low do you let the energy levels go before you take a player out of the lineup? I just want to get a realistic amount of games played for everyone on my team.

Ok, I think I haven't been letting them go low enough. About the lowest I would go was around 88%. Time for a change.

i haven't noticed much effected in the way of performance when i let guys get a bit low. the main reason i take guys out when i do (under 70%) is because i'm guessing that injury probability goes up with the drop in that category. just a guess though... :chin:

Good guess, I will definitely drop below 80% all the time on everyone now, with the occassional day off so I can get my bench players in.

I know from my many trips through the datafile that the chance of injury does increase for fatigued players. I'm not sure at what point it kicks in though.

I usually remove guys at around 80%, unless I see that I have an off day coming in the next few days.

80%, but i also take into account quite a few things.

1) who they are to me - if i really like a guy on my team (ex. chavez) then i'm less likely to take him out of the lineup than say, anyone with the same ratings who i'm not attached too. not a huge factor for me though.

2) their contract. if the guy on a AAA contract is tired, i'm most likely going to bench him over the guy on the MLB indispensible contract.

3) their value in my lineup. without mark kotsay, i don't have a leadoff man (traded kendall), especially versus lefties. so he's most likely to stay in the lineup. also if joe mauer is getting tired, but i'm facing a righty today and a lefty tommorow, i'll give him the day off tommorow because he crushes righties and is barely a AAA player vs LHP

4) off day coming up soon or not? if the next day is an off day, no point in benching a top player unless i have another reason too, or they are absolutely dead.

Anywhere from 75 - 80% most of my guys will get a breather. Really depends on the opponent, the quality of the player, future off-days, etc. I think the lowest I've had a guy in is 68%
