Shef87
I was playing last night and Sheffield dives for a ball and he gets a hernia. Now he's out for 88 days. Has anyone else had injuries like this that just ruin your season?
cybernetic
Chris Carpenter got a hernia while pitching in a ladder match game against me.. but luckily it was late in the game so not that big of a problem
go_bucs2000
my worst injury was ros rounding third against the d-backs slide in to get safe and a torn ligament out 165 days :wall: :wall:
YankeexDev
Aubrey Huff is out for 280 days, forgot the injury
cybernetic
I've seen a guy go out with Tommy John surgery in the game before for 365 days
Filthy57
I've seen a guy go out with Tommy John surgery in the game before for 365 days Yeah that's what would happen. Eric Gagne is getting Tommy John surgery today or tomorrow, I think, and he might be back a year from now. Anyway, I once lost Johnny Damon for 15 days after he had a concussion sliding into home plate. Kris Benson also got injured randomly after throwing a pitch. He was pitching fine until the third inning, when he threw a pitch and then he was injured. I remember putting him on the 15 day DL, as well. That sucked so bad, but luckily I had a 5th starter that could fill in for that game and a few starts after that.
cybernetic
I've seen a lot of guys go down with wrist/hand injuries sliding into 2nd base.. as well there was an injury in the all-star game to Aramis Ramirez.. he was hurt twice in the all-star game. First he was beaned in the neck by Johan Santana and then he sprained his writs sliding into 2nd trying to break up a double play. But he's only on the 15 day DL. AND he didn't slide.... my guy hit him in with a triple... so the throw wasnt even close... he just sorta jogged in... and then tore his rotator cuff.... was out for the rest of the season.... and i wasnt out of april yet.... so depressing lol
pez_dispenser21
I hit a hard ground ball town the line with Ichiro and my finger slipped when he was running and he slid head first. He was out for the season on my home opener with something wrong to his sholder. But it's baseball it's just what happens.
FBlue
I lost Paul Lo Duca to a torn ACL for 90+ days (rest of season). He hit a easy double but somehow managed to tear up his knee on his way to second. He didn't even have to slide he was safe by a mile. I have also seen Corey Patterson pull his hamstring slowing jogging to catch a routine fly ball.
TigersGM
I lost Magglio Ordonez to a torn knee ligament. Lost him for the season in late April/early May.
Viceman2004
Aramis Ramirez for the season..seperated shouler while hitting Lo Duca at home plate. And he wasnt even safe. :wtg: way to go A-ram! lol. I had to trade and get Soriano so my offense wouldnt crumble. And 2 days after his arrival, Garciaparra goes out with injury for 45 days. Great. :help:
deacs
Fourth game of the season- White Sox at Minnesota, Garland pitching. Nursing a 1-0 lead in bottom 3, with one out and runners on 1 and 3 and a 1-2 count, I inadvertantly hit Shannon Stewart. He charged the mound and Garland suffered a hip flexor - out 19 days. And Stewart didn't even get suspended!
Spivey11
Cesar Izturis just separated his shoulder on a FEET first slide into second. And now he's out for 60 days!!! :wall:
Kccitystar
*sigh* Derek Jeter has a torn PCL and will be out for 88 Days. Crap. So you know what I did? I did what Steinbrenner would do. I traded Kevin Brown for Kaz Matsui just to hold me down for the time being until Jeets returns, LOL :lmao:
hunteroo2
lost my 1st baseman for 32 days to a fractured toe while diving for a grounder
Shef87
Shoulda got Reyes.... Matsui blows. Or you could have brought up the SS in AAA. Felix Escalona I think his name is. He's cool.
rickel2
gonzalez on the marlins got a concussion and was out 48. that must have been some hit on the head. wow!
LetsGoFish2015
Has anyone noticed how the same injuries are constantly repeated, such as "torn right shoulder muscle"? We need more variety here! Also, why are suspensions so rare?
Shef87
Well Besides Sheffield being out until after the All-Star break. Now Tino fractured his ankle and he'll be out for about 60 days. This sucks. But I'm starting to heat up with other hitters, especially Matsui, so hopefully it won't hurt too much.
jhdabrick
I had a game where Ryan Langerhans was on first with 2 outs, and the batter lined out to the shortstop. Langerhans then promptly had to leave the game injuried, with a slide or any contact, he suffered a strained fore arm muscle. Out two weeks :club:
TigersGM
gonzalez on the marlins got a concussion and was out 48. that must have been some hit on the head. wow! That reminds me of another one...I lost Mike Maroth for 45 days due to a concussion. He got it from a line drive right to his head!!! Also lost Ugueth Urbina for 30 days. Line drive, this time to his leg for a leg fracture. Ouch! :hmph:
YanksAllDaWay81
once a few years ago i was playing ASB 2003 and i was the Yankees. Some guy named Ron Coomer slid head first into first or second and was out the rest of the season with Meningitis (go figure)
JP_Frost
I had Aramaris Ramirez dive for a ball and he was out with a fractured nose. Just imagine him diving for a ball and land with his face flat on the ground. Atleast give the guy some points for effort.
