Game crashes when I choose call up or send down player...

I'm able to start a dynasty, edit players in game normally, play an exhibition game - but whenever I hit 'call up/send down" the game crashed to desktop, anyone have any ideas about that?

I've been editing the ultimate rosters 2.35, imported a couple other players from the default set, added cyberfaces for chicago cubs/sox and cleveland, updated stadiums for cleveland/cws/chc; and hex edited the *.loc files to get it to display "los angeles angels."

I tried switcing the .loc files back to the ones that get put in by the "generic laa/ana changer" patch, the game went back to being anaheim angels, but the crash still occurs when i hit call up/send down...

anyone know what might be going on?

I'm going to grab some files off the original cd and see what happens.

i also tried reexporting some of previous iterations of my updates to ultimate roster 2.35, it still crashes.

The problem has something to do with Ryan Garko's portrait, it crashes when I edit him (when i have the updated portrait.big in place). thank goodness it's not in the rosters or the LAA fix!

according to MVPedit garko doesn't have a face? why would it crash on him? id 6404...

ok, so it's all corrupt / uncompressed portraits...

what's the best way to compress the portraits so they work?

is there any way to add portraits using biggui that works? I used them so that I could import a bunch at once, and choose not to overwrite any in portrait.big, because I don't want to overwrite portraits that come in the game, only add new guys....

i suppose there are plenty of threads about portraits causing crashes.
