aknbean
How can I install these updates and have them work without having to always restart my dynasty? The uniform and models.big changes work, but the rosters do not, until I start a new dynasty. I really like the mods but would love to apply the rosters at about the same point in the season they actually occured. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't think the mods carry over into your dynasty. So everytime you install mods you will have to restart your dynasty. I am playing one now but as soon as a few more mods are uploaded to the site I will have to start a new one myself.

Uniform and stadium mods will carry over into dynasties, but most cyberfaces, since they require MVPedit number designation, and all rosters can't be used mid-dynasty. big shmooz
ok yo big shmooz,i duno why my game crashes nowadays quite frequently for no reason. i installed both ur model.big file and the roster.wondering whether it had anything to do with ur update.i sincerely hope it is not the case, but i'm desperate Let me ask you something... Have you after installing my roster tried to change things in the roster to your liking? I mean have you moved players from one team to another. Because if you do not do this properly, it can cause crashes. How to do this properly is as follows... The editing in MVPEdit should be done in a particular way. If you insert somebody into the lineups, do not do so when you have more than 25 players on the team. First make sure to delete players to equal 25 or less. Only then insert a player in a lineup. Also, never delete a player off the roster before you insert somebody in his place in the lineups. As far as pitchers are concerned, never delete a pitcher from the starting rotation unless you first insert another pitcher in his place. Preferably, do not insert a pitcher into the number 1 or number 5 spot from outside the rotation. This means that if you plan to replace a pitcher in the 1 or 5 spot, first switch with a pitcher already in the rotation to that spot. Then replace the pitcher you want, by putting the new pitcher into the 2 or 3 or 4 spot (wherever you had moved him to in the rotation) Then maneuver back your pitching staff to your liking in the rotation. Also, there is a check errors feature in MVPedit. Use this feature often to check on what you have done to make sure you have not done anything wrong. Also, back up often, so if you make a mistake, you don't have to start all over again, but rather you can start over from the last place you saved your work at. If you have not followed these procedures when moving a player, this is probably what is causing your crashes. Please post back a response if this is the case. big shmooz
shmooz, the version that I use was 1.5. I extract the .mbe and the models.big the same day that was uploaded. I remember that the .mbe file said that "Only use these rosters in conjunction with the models.big file I uploaded from July XX & on. Otherwise your game will crash". I know that if I use an old models.big with a recent .mbe file the game crash. I will ask you the same question I asked punishher, in the above post. If you have please refer to the above post for an explanation as to what to do. I would suggest using the latest download of the rosters & models.big on the site (uploaded this past friday) & use the rosters that this will automatically update as a starting point. Then follow the above explained procedures if you want to change anything on your own.
big shmooz
Hmm..the newest version of KCcity models.big isn't working. My game didn't crash yesterday, and the only other thing I installed before it was a Red Sox CTS/theme. To check, I downloaded a different CTS, and it worked too, but still crashed halfway through the first loading bar. I was using your rosters, so that's probably not the problem (all stars) Ok... what teams did you pick & who was your pitcher & first batter etc... Also, had you adjusted anything in the rosters after you downloaded the mod before playing? If so, try reinstalling the mod & don't do anything to it. Try to start up a game & see if it still crashes.

I apologize, but that is a feature of the game itself. I can't do anything about it. The game is programmed that way because when you start a dynasty this creates new files that no longer have a connection to your roster files that you had before. The dynasty uses the roster files as a starting point, but then once it has them, it no longer uses them for your dynasty.
punishher
umm big shmooz,i didn't edit anything. i'm like super noobie and all i can say is i didn't dare edit it at all o.O

Also, can you please tell me which version of my mod you are using. (The name of the .ace file & what version number) Also, can you be detailed as to what is happening at the moment it crashes. Who is at bat, who is pitching etc... One more thing I might suggest is, try uninstalling the game. If the game leaves either mvp baseball 2005 folder, delete it/them. Reinstall the game. Install patch 2 or later from EA. Then download my latest version of the models.big/rosters ace file. Make sure to install it to the main mvp folder. (do not install things individually) Do not install anything else to your game. Start up the game & see if you still crash. Please post back results. Thanks. If things work, you know it's not my files that are causing your issues. Then install whatever you like, but do things one at a time. Test them out, if they work, install the next thing etc.. I reinstalled your models.big, database, and uniforms.big still to no avail. I apologize, but you need to answer my other questions in order for me to help you troubleshoot the problems. Also, do you have any other mods installed? Try doing it with nothing else installed & see what happens. I just put in the models.big with Kccitystar's uniforms & chose the Yankees verses the Red Sox Randy Johnson was my pitcher & Johnny Damon led off & I used the default home & away uniforms. No problems. It went straight into the game. Are those the same teams & uniforms & pitcher & batter you used when the game crashed at the loadup screen? One moe thing, when you reinstalled the files, did you simply extract the .ace file to your main mvp folder as per the readme?

One moe thing, when you reinstalled the files, did you simply extract the .ace file to your main mvp folder as per the readme? I did extract the files to the correct folders since I have a little backup method that where I extract it to a different folder and then copy it over. The copies were successful since I checked the timestamp on their modification. No, you see, the night before I installed the models.big my game worked fine. The next morning, I first installed a Red Sox theme which I had already installed, but some of the pieces were overwritten by RealMania's roster so I reinstalled the theme over them. Before I loaded up the game, I also grabbed your newest KCCitystar models.big and installed it using my regular method. When I went to load up the actual game, it crashed in the first loading bar, about halfway through (before the Click to Start screen..much before it) It is the same type of crash which occurs with All-Star team modifications, but I know your rosters don't have those. I also know it probably wasn't my Red Sox theme because A) I've already had it installed and it worked perfectly) and it was showing up correctly as the background to the first loading bar. Even so, I downloaded K.S.M.'s stadium theme, and that as well had the correct background showing up, but the same crash occured mid-way through the first loading bar. EDIT: I tried an older models.big and I still have the crashing before mid-way through the first loading screen. I'll test some other rosters now. Do you know what files make up the frontend artwork that would be modified in an CTS/team theme? I'll try restoring those from my CD. EDIT: I tried a different roster - still crashes. EDIT: I restored all frontend artwork from the CD. Crashing is still there. Next, I'm going to take a shot at maybe the uniforms.big... EDIT: Uniforms.big restored to no avail. Who the hell knows what I'll try next... EDIT: I restored the models.big, portrait.big, and database files from the CD. Crash is still there! Man, I'm getting close to giving up on MVP for the year. Training Camp is just a few days away, and I have plenty of roster work for Madden I'm procrastinating, so we'll see here.. I'm done for the night anyways

I hate to say this, but from what you described, the crashes have absolutely nothing to do with my mod. You are not using my mod & you still get the crashes. My advice is to reinstall the game. Then put in my mod. But make sure after you uninstall to delete both MVP folders (if the uninstall does not do so for you). Then install the game from scratch. Install patch 2 or later. Test that everything is working fine. Then install my mod & you should be good to go.

Then uncheck the read only box on the models.big file. Then install the uniforms with eagraph.exe. Actually this is all in the read me. Did you try reading the read me & not understand? if so, please post back what you didn't understand.

Are you saying they are his uniforms but they don't contain the gloves & shoes? Are the gloves & shoes in a separate file than the uxxx.fsh? If not, how can the uniform be there & not the gloves & shoes? I didn't REMOVE anything. Please respond. Thanks.
UncleMo
Hey, I mean U has shoes and gloves from KC I think, that go with his 2x unis, so when I installed uniforms.big there were the unis but with regular EA shoes and gloves. That is what I mean...-Mo
