I just have a question about rosters in general. I'm posting my question here because I'm using big shmoozes rosters. I hope it's ok.

When I installed big shmooze's roster I assume it became my default roster, correct?

I imported that roster to MVPedit and had to name it. I started a dynasty with that roster set. My question is, when I use MVPedit to make any changes and then export the roster with the changes and click on "Reset Rosters" in the game, why don't the changes show up in my dynasty? I don't have any other roster's loaded, so what happens to the changes I exported? Do I have two rosters now, the one for my dynasty and the default? I'm a little confused. When I click on "Load Rosters", I get a message that say's I don't have any rosters to load. Any type of explanation would help. Thanks.

Ok.. I will explain. When you start a dynasty the game loads the rosters for the dynasty from your default rosters. However once you start a dynasty if you change the default rosters, it will be recognized only in exhibition mode. The dynasty rosters are saved to a totally different file & it is read from the new file that the dynasty created.

When you click to load rosters & it says there are no rosters to load... Those rosters it is speaking about that it says there are none, are saved rosters that you saved in the game itself. Not one's you downloaded. In order to have such saved rosters, you need to save the downloaded rosters ingame & name them in the game. This will create a .sav file which is actually located in the mvp folder inside the my documents folder (a totally different place on your hard drive)

I hope this explains things for you.

Bottom line is, if you want the dynasty to read your changes, you need to start a whole new dynasty.

Quick question Shmooze,

Is it possible to install the MLB ball and bats that spitoon made after installing your updated models folder? Had them before but since I reinstalled I can't get them to install. Didn't know if it was because the reliance on Gfpax or what?

Could you elaborate on "To install the cyberfaces, just use eagraph to install these files. No need to edit mvpedit for these players, & no need to compress the cyberface files as this has already been done."

Would you be able to provide a step by step mini-tutorial on how to do this?

Also, I can't dl your latest rosters and cyberfaces and use them for my current dynasty right? I need to start a whole new dynasty to use the new mods? Thanks and sorry again for being such a nub.

Quick question Shmooze,

My mod does not interfere with the ability to install the bats & ball because that file it goes in to is not he models.big. GFXpak would not cause an error since it's a totally different file.

I have it posted somewhere how to install it via eagraph, but I forget where the link is to this. I may post it again, but I don't have time right now but G-D willing if you do not find it before then (please post if you do find the location with this info) I can post it again for you as a step by step. It's pretty easy actually.

You are correct, you can't use the latest rosters or cyberfaces in a previously started dynasty. The only faces the game will recognize in the new cyberfaces are one's that the game already had assigned a number to at the time when you started your dynasty.

Shmooz I have followed all the steps provided and I am unable to see changes to my cyberfaces or rosters.

To install the new roster I extracted the .mbe file to my MVPEdit folder and opened it in MVPEdit then Exported it. This should change my rosters correct? However, when I go to play, for instance, I use the Tigers to see if McDonald is there, he's nowhere to be found.

Now the cyberfaces, here's what I've done. I created a folder on my desktop and extracted all the fsh ord orl files into it. I then open up eagraph where I open the models.big file and added all the cyberfaces and installed them using the wizard (I found a step by step that you replied to in an earlier thread). After the installation of the cyberfaces was finished I tried to use Brandon League (I extracted his clear shades set into the folder with the rest of the cyberfaces) and he still has no shades and black hair.

Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Art Vandelay, good name, from Seinfeld, try this:

Simply put your models.big file in your appropriate folder and back up the one that is already there. VIOLA you now have all faces. Now, for the roster, I think all you have to do is put the data folder that comes with the download in the correct folder to replace your old data folder. VIOLA. You have all rosters. Now go to MVP edit and import, create a new MBE and there you go. Search for Old McDonald. Should do it.

there;s no models.big file included in shmooz's latest update. so i suppose i am currently using the one from Big Shmooz Roster & Models.big.

What do you mean by 'create a new MBE'?

Download Shmooz's latest release and you'll see that you have to install all the faces on their own, they're not all bundled together. Let me know what you do to get those faces to work cuz I can't seem to do it.

hey...i isntalled ur latest file and all the faces work except for the zaun one...he still has that ugly gemeric face

Oops... my fault. Thanks for pointing it out... I forgot to change his face number in MVP Edit. Change it to 584 for the cyberface. I corrected it now. Any .mbe version that is past 1.14 will have this already corrected by default. Also, any future major update I do (a models.big update), will have this corrected.

The readme's all explain what they are. All have the rosters & cyberfaces.

Big Shmooz Roster & Models.big contains in addition to that, uniforms that are from Moser for the main uni's. (plus other people's extra uniforms that are listed in the readme)

Big Shmooz Roster & Models.big - Lite Version contains no uniform updates.

Big Shmooz Roster & Umachines uniforms Models.big contains Umachines uniforms as the main one's (plus other people's extra uniforms that are listed in the readme).

Big Shmooz Rosters - No DL

are all from last year's game. These ARE NOT recent files. Look at the dates they were uploaded.

Big Shmooz Rosters V1.0.zip is the .dat files (rosters) plus cyberfaces that were uploaded to the site since my last upload with a models.big file. This was uploaded in this fashion in order to save people from having to download a whole new models.big file in order to get the latest roster updates. (if you look at the date of the upload, you will see it is a later date than the one's that contain a models.big file.)

Big Shmooz updated roster based on Ultimate 2.35 With Kccitystars uniforms contain in addition to that, the KCcitystar uniforms as the main uniforms in the game (plus other people's extra uniforms that are listed in the readme).

Boston Portrait update.zip contains portraits for players on Boston who were recently acquired.

Cyberfaces for UR 2.35 Plus modified by Big Shmooz.zip This file was uploaded per request of people who have dialup modems & it takes too long for them to download the over 200 megabyte files of the .ace version. They gain in time since the download is smaller, but have to manually instead install all the faces. It's a tradeoff.

As far as my latest one's, they contain more updated rosters.

Btw... all this info you asked me is all contained in the readme's of the files themselves. All you need to do is look at the readme of the particular download & all this info is there.

First let's deal with the roster update via the .mbe file. Are you sure you are exporting the file to your database folder? With most people it means actually double clicking on the database folder after you click on "export" to get mvpedit to actually open that folder. Then click ok. (it should ask you if you want to overwrite, say yes).

As far as cyberfaces.... the most obvious reason why you don't see the cyberfaces in-game is because you never exported the .mbe file properly. Do that properly as I explain above & then see if the cyberfaces show up. (btw... you will have to edit Zaun's cyberface number yourself to 584 before exporting the .mbe file to your game, since I goofed & forgot to change his default cyberface number to 584.)

If they still do not show up after importing the rosters correctly, make sure you actually installed the cyberfaces by opening the models.big file in eagraph & look & see if those numbers actually are in the models.big.

Edit... I am not sure if you are playing a dynasty or not, but if you are, the changes you make will not show up in your current dynasty. You will see the changes only if you try to play an exhibition game & also if you start a new dynasty AFTER you made the changes.

the only problem with that info being in the readme is you need to download everything to get the readme files?

Unfortunately that is so. I do not know why, but the administrators cut short the read me file I uploaded for viewing. I think it's probably because it made one download take up too much space on the page.

k thanks a lot shmooz everything's working fine now. so when is the trade deadline? must be a nice break for you roster-makers once the deadline's up eh? the latest release doesn't have the Phil Nevin - Chan Ho Park trade in it does it? I'm assuming there will be one final release coming up this week with all final trades done? Thanks again for all your work, it's much appreciated.

I apologize, but that is a feature of the game itself. I can't do anything about it. The game is programmed that way because when you start a dynasty this creates new files that no longer have a connection to your roster files that you had before. The dynasty uses the roster files as a starting point, but then once it has them, it no longer uses them for your dynasty.

Thanks. Thats what I thought. I still get some crashing, but it is sporadic. Can't seem to pin point the cause. Have been playing around with video drivers and settings. Good game. Great Mods!

will another cyberface pack currently in the works?

I am not sure what you are asking. I do not make cyberfaces. If they are uploaded to the site, I adjust them to work with my rosters. Currently the latest release of my rosters has the most updated cyberfaces except for Shawn Chacon. But I have no need to update that because his cyberface number is the same as it is in the game. (his cyberface number was not changed)
