Sean O
Hey all- Been working on Baltimore Memorial Stadium, or I guess stadia, for the past few days. Results are kinda rough but should be completely playable and look pretty nice. There are some small graphical annoyances (I ran out of patience moving the jumbotron to its correct position, for example), but overall it should give you a good idea of the parks at that point. As always, if you want to spruce it up it's yours for the taking. Maps, with thanks to Andrew Clem: 1954: 1993: source file, for comparison: Hope you enjoy. cb
:hail: I know this probably took hours of frustrating work, but how about Texas's Arlington stadium? Could that be modded as well? Thanks, incredible job. :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :wtg:
cybernetic
isn't that the same stadium as Ameriquest Field at Arlington?
cb
Nope, The Rangers current stadium was built in '92, they moved in for the '94 season, They Played in Arlington Stadium since they moved to Arlington, Texas back in '72.
Sean O
I never really know what's going to strike me as the best project, since it's mainly done by what park is the easiest to convert. If I can figure out an adequate way of modifying the park then I'm naturally more interested in pursuing it. The problem with Arlington is that I was going to use Hiram Birthorn as the base, but the seating all around is too narrow to compare to Arlington's mass of (mostly) single-deck seating. New Comiskey might be a good base since I could theoretically just get rid of the upper deck area, but I encountered some problem with figuring out exactly how to make it look decent. There's no real rhyme or reason to how things get picked, so hopefully people can enjoy them regardless. Thanks for the comments.
cb
How bout dodger stadium as the base> The outfield bleachers look similar to mee, you wquls just have to get rid of the overhangs they have and replace them with the ads.
Millennium
I must say, seing that stadium done so well truly brought a tear to my eye. Being only 25, I remember going out to Memorial Stadium for my first O's games. So many great memories came from that place for me. Not sure if you all know, but Memorial Stadium has since been torn down in favor of office buildings. Sean O, thank you for this. I am going out today to buy the PC version just for this field. Lucas718
I spent many years going to Memorial Stadium and I've been hoping one day it would turn up in a video game. Based on the screen shots it looks pretty close to the real thing. Can't wait to download this and test it out. Thanks for doing this.

tkrahling
Yea very nice, I myself grew up in Baltimore and being 31 next month I have many found memories of Memorial Stadium. Although I do remember the not so found memory of my dad trying to get out of that parking lot after a game, anyone who has been there will know what I am talking about. They would park all of the cars back to back to fit more in the tiny lot around the stadium, so essentially you would have to wait for all of the cars in front or behind you to be moved to get out. Sean O
Hey all- thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate them. If you want to help out a poor recent college graduate by contributing some money to the cause, I'd appreciate it even more. My e-mail address is eyerishman34@yahoo.com, and every bit helps, especially if I'm going to explain the amount of time I spend on this to my wonderful girlfriend. Hope you enjoy. Sean O
So uh... I kinda just realized, almost 5 months after the fact, that I never included the real version of Baltimore Stadium in 1954. Somehow an interim version which was just intended as a backup while modding was released as the final product, while the real park has been languishing on my hard drive ever since June. Expect the real version of Baltimore 1954 to come out soon, even if the scoreboard isn't going to be accurate.
Pirate
I did that with a stadium once. I had it all done and left it sitting there. Woops. These are something else Sean.
HardcoreLegend
Sean? Any chance you may a) release the 1954 version or use the new removable.o feature to add the rest of the crowd? Also, the version in Total Classics 5 has the dugout people sitting just off of the basepath. CRAZY!!! :-D
Sean O
At this point, it's probably just not going to happen. But, this is completely open for anyone interested in updating the file, since I don't know when I'd get the time to slog through fixing all the problems. The only crowd I'd really add to the park would be in the bleachers for the 90s version, since I purposely removed about 80% of the crowd to make it more realistic. HardcoreLegend
Is there any chance I could get a copy of whatever 1950's version you have? I think I'd like to take a stab at messing with the graphics, fan placement and what not...if you don't mind. I'm trying to get a rounded out selection of 1960's stadiums for TC. Sean O
Heck yeah! man, I can't believe I even released this. just terrible. Anyway, pm me your e-mail address and I'll send it right off.
HardcoreLegend
Thanks Sean, but I can't get a good .o out of mstadium.orl. Every time I open it in EAGraph, it tells me that it is an unreadable format.
Sean O
Hey all- The real 1954 version was never released, and so I've created a day and night version that's ready to go out. Look at the first page for information on the early version of Baltimore Memorial, since it certainly has a big outfield. If anyone wants to mod it once it's released, it's all yours. Sean O
Well, spent all day updating Baltimore Memorial Stadium, and it's looking way better. Most of them were just small cosmetic changes, but also fielding and graphical updates. Most importantly, we have the old dimensions in the park, so get ready to leg out some triples with the 446' power alleys. Images: Enjoy.
Sean O
Wow, tons of empty promises in this thread. I promise to work on that. Anyway, as you can see above, new Baltimore Memorial! I started from scratch (basically; I modded a simple base stadium that, in a pinch, could work for any MLB stadium if you finagle it enough, which I may release someday), and rebuilt Baltimore Memorial's post-'56 layout. Ignore the Indians logos on the picture, they're just placeholders for the version I sent off to Pirate. Right field, where you can see the higher wall and the padded wall in front, the recessed retractable seating in the corner, and the upper deck just entering fair territory. I also took out the solid wall along the infield and replaced it with a more accurate railing fence. Pirate's been kind enough to work on a bunch of my parks, so there's no rush in getting this out. But there couldn't be a proper '64 mod without it, right?
