mooseknucks
Alright I posted this last night and it was vague, I know; I myself created a roster with a bunch of tweaked players for this year, and I released it as Brooklyn's Rosters v1.0 ... I asked a couple of guys (Sean O and pedrospecialk) to look it through and let me know what's going on and what I should change. Sean O told me a few things to tweak on the Red Sox and pedro basically tweaked some things and sent it back to me. He than said he'd look over the National League and let me know what's up and I'm going to take the AL and tweak some things. Sean O will be testing the rosters from time to time to let us know if we missed anything. So far: 1. Derek Lee and Albert Pujols raced for the MVP all year. 2. Brian Roberts broke out as a top 3 second baseman. 3. Paul Konerko hit around or over 40 homeruns with a sub .260 average. 4. Robinson Cano premeired as the 4th best second baseman (this is for the future, he's not the 4th best now). 5. Clint Barmes hit over .300 two years in a row. 6. Chien Ming Wang appeared late in the year for both I and pedro has a #3 starter. 7. Andruw Jones tied Derek Lee for most homeruns (46). 8. Johnny Damon and Jason Varitek batted over .310 for average. That's all I can think of right now that I tweaked. This thread is for any current to the day suggestions anyone has or if people want to check out my original less quality rosters and tell me if they see some faults (which should come in handfuls) and let me know here. Thank you in advance, Brooklyn and pedrospecialk

mastasports1
ah, quick question. how do I install these rosters? sorry, I don't know much about this stuff. Place the .sav file in your My Documents/MVP Baseball 2005/ folder. You'll have to go into the manage rosters menu in-game and select load rosters, then chose whichever roster you downloaded. These rosters won't be able to be imported/exported into MVPedit (see below) If you encounter any .mbe files (Like Ultimate Rosters 3.5), you need MVPedit for that. (Search the forums for a lot more info on MVPedit) MVPedit will export the .mbe file into your database folder, where it will replace the default roster, eliminating any need to load up anything in-game. MVPedit also offers the external editing edge. And if you download any rosters which just have a bunch of .dat files, you need to place those in the C:/Program Files/EA Sports/MVP Baseball 2005/data/database folder. These will replace your default rosters, so there is no need to load up anything in-game.

mooseknucks
The file was compressed into a .rar file which is a fancier .zip ... the site never lets me upload strictly .sav's so I had to compress to a .rar ... it's the same as zip, just extract to werever and place it in your MVP Baseball 2005 folder. Shoulda told you that one pedro ... would've helped.
mooseknucks
Ah. I guess I'm then working on version 2.1 or 3.0 :-P Depending on how much you've compiled in your research, this could take us weeks and in which case the outcome would be v3.0 but if it's just a quick tweak here, tweak there, it'll be v2.1 ... let's see if I ever get time to do anything seeing as though I work every damn night. :wall:

mooseknucks
v2.1 soon to be available early. Lots of tweaks on this one. Hey everyone. This is the readme for Brooklyn and PedroSpecialK's roster, hope you enjoy them, as a lot of hard work has been put in by myself, Brooklyn, and Sean O. The way I adjusted the ratings for the players was that I got their park adjusted ERAs and OPSs courtesy of Baseball Prospectus. I then did 15 fantasy drafts and simmed each for one year, breaking them up into 5 year intervals and making each five years one "set". Of course, I ended up with three sets. After each set, I compared the players' numbers to their real park-adjusted OPSs and ERAs. I then adjusted their ratings and career potential (based on reputation and on Baseball America's 2005 prospect handbook). I only typed up the statistics from the first set of seasons, as I figured it would be tedious and unnecessary to do the other two sets. I did, however, type up my own recommendations for all three sets. Brooklyn is responsible for the initial changes to the AL, and Sean O deserves props for being a main tester as well. I personally do not have those changes all recorded; what I did was just went through the rosters and made the obvious changes (like Ryan Klesko being better against lefties than righties, which isn't so). Enjoy! SET 1 .900+ OPS Bobby Abreu (.330/.434/.552) Moises Alou (.309/.385/.516) Garrett Atkins* (.341/.417/.546) Mark Bellhorn* (.304/.440/.511) Lance Berkman (.332/.447/.566) Hank Blalock (.325/.401/.516) Barry Bonds (.336/.461/.664) Milton Bradley* (.279/.380/.558) Sean Casey (.325/.373/.549) Bobby Crosby (.315/.382/.519) Carlos Delgado (.310/.380/.537) Jermaine Dye* (.312/.391/.561) Jim Edmonds (.294/.407/.584) Morgan Ensberg* (.307/.408/.498) Jay Gibbons* (.324/.399/.519) Vladimir Guerrero (.329/.419/.621) Carlos Guillen* (.326/.406/.538) Todd Helton (.318/.440/.618) Eric Hinske (.299/.397/.503) Tadahito Iguchi* (.358/.423/.527) Ichiro* (.331/.438/.498) Nick Johnson (.333/.461/.511) Chipper Jones (.343/.439/.571) Travis Lee* (.308/.404/.511) Mark Loretta* (.335/.418/.531) Joe Mauer* (.328/.431/.542) Trot Nixon (.302/.405/.507) Rafael Palmeiro (.293/.422/.486) Albert Pujols* (.290/.390/.562) Aramis Ramirez (.333/.405/.527) Brian Roberts (.324/.399/.508) Alex Rodriguez* (.290/.377/.551) Sammy Sosa (.318/.409/.538) Nick Swisher* (.297/.391/.522) Mark Teixeira (.312/.411/.519) Frank Thomas* (.323/.458/.496) Jim Thome (.348/.454/.583) Vernon Wells (.293/.384/.518) Kevin Youkilis* (.318/.441/.514) Gregg Zaun* (.337/.426/.555) Sub 3.50 ERA Bronson Arroyo* 3.35 Armando Benitez 1.95 Jeremy Bonderman 3.49 Yhency Brazoban 3.07 Sean BUrnett* 2.70 Chris Carpenter 2.80 Lance Carter 2.98 Matt Clement 3.39 Chad Cordero 2.52 Francisco Cordero 3.21 Jesse Crain 1.72 Ryan Franklin* 3.34 Jason Frasor 3.46 Eric Gagne 2.10 Buddy Groom* 2.53 Eddie Guardado 3.29 Roy Halladay 3.00 Chris Hammond 2.85 Shigetoshi Hasegawa 2.92 Roberto Hernandez 2.38 Trevor Hoffman 2.86 Tim Hudson 3.18 Jason Isringhausen 3.23 Steve Karsay* 3.11 Steve Kline 2.14 Dan Kolb 2.95 Al Leiter* 2.70 Brad Lidge 2.16 Braden Looper 2.78 Greg Maddux 3.36 Pedro Martinez 2.64 Julio Mateo* 1.34 Jose Mesa* 1.85 Brian Moeller* 2.89 Guillermo Mota 3.50 Peter Munro* 3.40 Joe Nathan 1.69 Jeff Nelson 3.43 Roy Oswalt 3.44 Jake Peavy 2.49 Odalis Perez 2.87 Jay Powell 3.34 Brandon Puffer* 2.31 Mark Prior 3.00 John Riedling 2.90 Juan Rincon 3.47 Mariano Rivera 3.32 Francisco Rodriguez 2.34 Kenny Rogers 3.15 Kirk Rueter* 3.28 Johan Santana 3.36 Aaron Sele* 3.28 Paul Shuey 2.56 Jorge Sosa 3.35 Huston Street 2.08 Mike Timlin 2.50 Steve Trachsel 3.26 Javy Vazquez 3.50 Tim Wakefield 3.07 Dontrelle Willis 3.13 Paul Wilson* 3.16 Randy Wolf 3.13 Kelly Wunsch 3.49 Esteban Yan 2.64 Chris Young 3.27 Barry Zito* 3.14 Unexpected Robbie Alomar (should be deleted) Garret Anderson (should be slightly upgraded) Tony Armas (should be slightly upgraded) Bronson Arroyo (should be very slightly downgraded) Garrett Atkins (should be downgraded) Danys Baez (should be slightly upgraded) Jeff Bagwell (should have more power) Rocco Baldelli (should be slightly upgraded) Cody Bale (should be heavily downgraded) Josh Beckett (should be slightly upgraded) Mark Bellhorn (contact and power should be downgraded 8 pts each) Joe Blanton (should be slightly upgraded) Milton Bradley (contact should be slightly upgraded, power should be downgraded) A.J. Expos4Ever
Can I have this roster in .mbe file(mvpedit?)? Claudio Vargas no longer pitch for the nationals, he pitches for the D-Backs. :wtg: Probably should upgrade Ryan Church of the nationals, he's suppose to be a big prospect. You can downgrade Termel Sledge a bit. Livan don't seem to have his best curveball with your roster(where is the big drop). If you watch as much nationals as I do, you know he has a better curveball than the one you gave him. So far in my dynasty, no other suggestions. Good job :hail:
