stecropper
The best Madden Historical Teams mods are created by a fellow named Muscle-Mike. His work can be found at http://football-freaks.com/forums/index.php?act=Downloads Unfortunately that site is down right now and I hope it is only a temporary condition. Muscle-Mike has Correct Names, Positions and Numbers for every Classic Madden Team plus he created some 30-40 additional Teams. Each has uniforms, Logos etc. Mike also tweaked the rosters a bit to make them very realistic. His work was absolutely fabulous. These are for Madden 2004 since the 05 version made it so difficult to mod rosters most everyone just gave up. If you visit that site look for the 12 or so files created by Muscle-Mike for Madden 2004 PC. You won't be dissappointed I am very sure of that. I quit modding myself once I discoverd Mike's incredible work. Here's a sample from Muscle-Mike's Read Me: Muscle Mike's Historic Roster for Madden 2004 PC Corrected numbers, correct names, look-alike player faces, actual padding and facemasks (where available), and added custom teams. ***A special thanks goes out to Nza and gommo, 2 terrific programmers who created editors to work around EA's limits. These editors enable us to give any number to any player (including duplicate #s and 0), the ability to change player info like faces and colleges, and more recently they cracked the shoe code and now we can give teams black or team colored cleats! Awesome work, guys!!! Custom NFL teams that were added are: 2OOO Giants (Super Bowl Giants were left out by EA) 1995 Colts (Harbaugh and Faulk) 1995 Lions (Sanders and Mitchell) 1994 49ers (classic throwback uniforms) 1989 Rams (Everett and Greene) 1989 Vikings (the infamous Herschel Walker trade) 1981 Bills (Cribbs and Haslett) 198O Browns (Sipe, Pruitt and classic orange pants) 198O Lions (fixed uniforms) 1979 Saints (Manning and classic uniforms) 1978 Cowboys (fixed uniforms) 1977 Cowboys (fixed uniforms) - Thanks to Leeman67! 1976 Bucs (O-16 record and Spurrier at QB) 1976 Cowboys (classic Bicentennial red helmet stripe) 1976 49ers (Plunkett and the Gold Rush) 1976 Giants (Morton and Csonka) 1976 Seahawks (1st year in NFL; Zorn at QB) 1975 Cardinals (fixed away pants to white) 1975 Cowboys (fixed away jersey) 1975 Giants (Morton and Kotar) 1974 Bills (O.J.'s playoff-bound Bills) 1974 Oilers (Pastorini and Willis) 1974 Patriots (Plunkett and Herron) 1974 Steelers (fixed rounded numbers to squared) 1973 Bills (O.J. and classic uniforms) 1973 Chargers (Unitas and Deacon Jones) 1973 Cowboys (this team got to the NFC title game) 1973 Eagles (Gabriel and classic white helmets) 1973 Falcons (Lee and Humphrey) 1973 Rams (Hadl and Youngblood) 1972 Rams (fixed home jerseys) 1971 Redskins (classic yellow R helmets) 1971 Cowboys (fixed uniforms) - Thanks to Leeman67! 1970 Cowboys (I just had to fix dark jerseys to replay SB V) 1970 49ers (Brodie and Willard) 1970 Lions (Landry and Karras) 1970 Saints (Kilmer and Abramowicz) 1969 Redskins (classic spear helmets) 1969 Rams (fixed home jerseys) 1967 Cowboys (fixed pants & away jersey) 1967 Oilers (classic silver helmets) 1966 Cowboys (fixed pants & away jersey) 1966 Patriots (Nance and Parilli) 1965 Bears (Butkus and Sayers) 1964 Bills (Kemp and Gilchrist) 1964 Cardinals (Crow and Wilson) 1964 Redskins (classic feather helmets) 1964 Vikings (classic purple pants) 1963 Chargers (classic white helmets) 1963 Giants (Tittle and Gifford) 1963 Jets (classic jet plane logo) 1963 Raiders (classic white shield logo) 1962 Broncos (classic orange helmets) 1962 Packers (the early years of the dynasty) 1962 Steelers (classic yellow helmets) - Thanks to Leeman67! 196O Cowboys (classic original uniforms) - Thanks to Leeman67! 1958 Giants (took NY logo off helmet) - Thanks to Gary Smith! 1957 49ers (fixed pants and helmet to gold) - Thanks to Gary Smith! 1952 Texans (Young and Donovan) - Thanks to John Baker! 1951 Rams (Crazylegs and Waterfield) 195O Browns (Graham and Motley) 1948 Eagles (Van Buren and Kilroy) - Thanks to John Baker! 197Os AFC and NFC pro bowl teams (top players from 197O-1979) These All Time Teams are ready for play: All Time Bears (Payton and Butkus) All Time Bills (Kelly and O.J.) mastasports1
Struttdaddy's rosters can be found at ConsoleSports.net while Football-Freaks.com is down. Struttdaddy's also come with a printable excel file. But FF is the best site. Football-gaming.com is on it's way out. I am a member at all 3 sites, and the #3 poster at ConsoleSports. For consoles, I would also check out Madden-Mania.com Finally, there is Maddenplanet.com and a few others like MaddenNation. For Madden Player Ratings in the old FBG style, go to FBGrosters.com
Playball335
You could visit my site if you are interested in Custom Teams for Madden 2004/2005. http://cmd.duntondesigns.com Hasn't been updated since EA didn't allow for using custom teams in franchise in 2005. Hopefully we can pump it up again for 2006.

Here's the about section for Gommo's editor, which works on both Madden 2004 and 2005 files: Thank you for using this editor. mastasports1
Also, the NCAA mod made mainly by Joe_410, but some by me and mistermike, can be found here: http://www.football-gaming.com/uploads/ind..._Rosters_v2.rar http://www.football-gaming.com/uploads/ind...ustomArt_v2.rar The rosters here are from last season, but Joe_410 won't have the time to update them for this year. Also, since these are a conversion from the 2004 NCAA mod (which also can be found at football-gaming.com/uploads) a lot of the skin colors are screwed up. All of the artwork was taken from a set 3 years ago, and has been updated. Also, that artwork can be found at pcfootball.net

BigDaddyCool
We also have some files over at http://www.pcfootball.net I have been asking the Madden community for not only a roster editor (which we now have) and the ability to get custom teams in Madden 2005 Franchises (we can now do that too), but also for the types of mods that are done here for MVP Baseball. The overlays, the stadiums would make a great addition to Madden if someone had the talent to crack Tiburon's code. I'm both jazzed and jelous of the work that some of you guys do over here as far as overlays and stadiums go. I would love to see the same thing happen for Madden. It would be so cool to see the FOX logo in the game as opposed to the regular EA logo, or even the ESPN or MNF logos. I would love to be able to play the 75 Rams in the LA Coliseum, or the All-Time Vikings in the Met. It's a shame that the old-school stadiums stopped at Madden 2002.
