Pared
Hey Guys, I'm sure, after finally figuring out how to edit the player position when standing the batters box, that there is a way to move the strike zone a bit lower than where it is right now.... Any ideas? I'm going to take a crack at this one.... ;)
pfunk880
Yeah... the high strikes bug me too. I really hope you figure this one out.
spitoon
I've been looking for a long time for that one...it could almost be moved an entire box down, I mean take the top row of hot/cold zones and put it at the bottom...that may be a bit extreme, but it's at least 1/2 a box. I have yet to find it, but I continue to look every so often. I've also moved the batters in the box, so that their back foot is on the line as they are in real baseball, much more realistic looking. spitoon
Just spent an hour or so going through many different files...the only thing I can find are the graphics for the red, blue, and grey squares for the hot zones...I can't even find the graphic for the corners of the strikezone. I thought it might be something that is stadium specific, but couldn't find any reference there...then I tried the anims.big file, nothing there...looked through quite a few of the frontend files... It's quite possible that I just don't know what I am looking for, it would be too simple for me to find variables that say "Strike Zone X" and "Strike Zone Y" or something. I will keep looking because I think that would be the answer to one the games main problems...if we could move it and/or shrink it a bit it should help generate more walks both from the CPU and human player. five
I can't even find the graphic for the corners of the strikezone. Look in igonly.big specifically in the ingameov.fsh. It looks like sta1 - sta7, might be what you're looking for.

pfunk880
Yay! Progress! I hate those high and tight corner strikes, I'm just like "How the *bleep* would they hit that in real life???" :banghead:
spitoon
Hey spitoon, have AOL IM? Let's talk and see what we can come up with... ParedFIA Sorry man, no AOL or MSN or anything, I hate being bothered when I'm doing something Anyways, here is where I am at:  <----my eyes really look like that... I've been looking everywhere for the last couple of hours and I was able to find the actual markers that show the corners of the strike zone...I'm learning little bits as I go...I was able to shrink them and in the game it looks pretty good, HOWEVER, as of now it is strictly a visual thing, the computer stills sees the entire strikezone...it looks smaller on the screen, but it is not really any smaller to the computer...In addition to shrinking it, I also want to move it 1/2 a square down (or more) and I haven't a clue yet on how to acheive that. If anybody else wants to go to work on this, the graphic for the corner of the strike zone is found in the igcrsr.fsh file in the /data/igshapes folder..the more hands on this the better as far as I am concerned. What I am looking for now are some references in some of those text files (the fes_xxxxxxxxx.fel ones) to the igscr file...I've found a few, but not the right ones... I also found the red, blue and grey zone markers in about 5 different spots, haven't determined which ones do what...I changed the color of a few of them and it didn't make any difference in the game...I think they use completely different sets of them for HR Derby, Pitching Duel, and game...makes sense...NOT Anyways, I'm getting tired, got to give it a break for a while 8)
dales
Don't know if you found this one already, spitoon, but in the "fes.ingamesettings.fel" file under "data/frontend" there is a section that reads as follows: TB:STRIKEZONE,1,0,132,181,153,14,1,1,1,1,0,0,frk12_en.sfn,3101,0,224,224,224,255,255,255,128,128,128,128,128,128,128,128,128,0,0,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0 BU:BU1,1,0,107,180,20,20,1,1,1,1,0,0,-1,0,0 SH:BP,0,0,109,182,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,reda,reda,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 SH:BH,0,0,109,182,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,reda,reda,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 GR:X0Y1,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FC:FC1,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,0,0,-1,255,0,0 FR:NO,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:PR,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:HI,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 SH:F5,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,0,blk5,fl07,1,0,0,255,0,2,1,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 FR:DI,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:SE,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FC:FC2,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,0,0,-1,255,0,0 FR:NO,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:PR,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:HI,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 SH:F5,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,0,fl00,fl07,1,0,0,255,1,2,1,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 FR:DI,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:SE,1,0,95,150,426,25,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 SG:SG1,1,0,339,152,183,20,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FC:SILVERFRAME,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,0,0,-1,255,0,0 FR:NO,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 SH:F5,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,0,blb1,blb1,1,0,0,170,0,100,1,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 FR:PR,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:HI,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 SH:F5,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,0,bkf1,bkf1,1,0,0,255,0,100,1,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 FR:DI,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 FR:SE,1,0,361,152,139,20,1,1,1,1,255,0,0,0,-1,0,0 BU:PREV,1,0,339,152,20,20,1,1,1,1,1,0,-1,0,0 SH:BN,1,0,341,154,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,larw,larw,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 SH:BP,0,0,341,154,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,laro,laro,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 SH:BH,0,0,341,154,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,larh,larh,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 BU:NEXT,1,0,502,152,20,20,1,1,1,1,1,0,-1,0,0 SH:BN,1,0,504,154,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,rarw,rarw,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 SH:BP,0,0,504,154,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,raro,raro,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 SH:BH,0,0,504,154,16,16,1,1,1,1,0,rarh,rarh,1,1,0,255,0,100,0,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 TL:TL1,1,0,389,153,87,14,1,1,1,1,0,0,frk12_en.sfn,14961,1,224,224,224,255,255,255,128,128,128,128,128,128,128,128,128,0,0,0,-1,0,0,1,0,1,0,0 TE:14961 TE:14962 TE:14963 I haven't adjusted any settings yet and don't plan to until tomorrow (or today actually). spitoon
Hmmm, could be it...I got way too tired and my eyes were bugging me last night..I'll take a look at it tonight if I get time...gotta watch hockey Now to figure out what all those numbers mean...I'm assuming we are looking for coordinates....I know in some games the coordinates are all based on a specific screen size whether it be 640X480 or 800X600...it'll take some figuring....
palwudi
Hi Spittoon and guys, I know you guys are looking for strikezone stuff and you probably have very good dieas about the files that you have gone through. I amd a group of guys have been looking at the files also for frequency where the players wear their long sleeves. i totally believe that it is in the files somewhere but we havent found anything close yet. If you guys know anyplace where logically EA would have put this please let us know...thanks

palwudi
I know what you mean and they are rare enough...was just wondering where they might have put the file...it obviously is being regulated somehow!
spitoon
I tried changing some of those variables that dales showed above and it made no difference in the game, except that the game crashed if you tried to access the settings screen in game....I think that section has to do with the in game settings, like turning strike zone on/off, hot/cold zones on/off, pitching cursor on/off...if you look through the rest of that file it references all those things in the game settings screen.... Back to the drawing board.
spitoon
I'm not holding out much hope as of now...it may well be something that is hard coded in the exe... Going to play for a while to give my brain a rest :)
