danf
thinking of buying 2005 for the pc. I already have 2004, is it worth the money to buy 2005 or is it the same game with only different rosters?
Yankee4Life
Go take a look at the mods in the download section. I would think with all the great stuff in there for you to have, your purchase of Mvp 2005 will be worth it.
NYM
MVP 2005 looks better overall. It's also better gameplay(no delays on playes and you can flip a ball to pitcher). Trust me for(I think its $30) it's worth it. PLus the mods make it look even better.
ssmith7289
Just the catching on the run is worth the upgrade
Jim825
In addition, in MVP2004, you'd see 2 - 3 diving "circus catches" per game by the outfielders. In MVP2005, the number of diving catches is greatly reduced, and not every diving catch is successful. I've seen plenty of errors occur when an outfielder dives for the ball. Expos4Ever
And there wouldn't be instance where your infield patiently wait for a ball from the OF and as soon as the ball gets close, dive :duh:

AcousticNut
I waffled for a while on whether to move to 2005 and was happy I finally did. The gameplay is much smoother, and just being able to toss to the pitcher on the run to cover 1st base is worth the price of admission. Get it. Sidewinder
The gameplay is much tighter on 2k5. You will like it much more than 2k4 if you play with a gamepad.

Jeeper
It's definitly worth buying. I went from MVP2003 to 2005, so you can imagine the differences I noticed

sowapowa
I play on the ps2. I don't really mind the flipping the ball to the pitcher thing because i usually just run to the base with my 1b guy. Mvp 2k5 is really different in terms of hitting. I used to average around .400 with my team on 2k4 with pared's sliders on all star and now I average .300 with default sliders on all star. It seems a lot harder for me to hit homeruns because they set angles for batters. R v R and L v L matchups are more realistic. R v L and L v R get really favorable angles and it seems like you see the ball longer. The new owner's mode isnt anything really special. It seems like lots of people still prefer the dynasty mode. There are those new mini games. Sometimes its fun to warm up on those before a game, but they aren't anything special as well.
JohnnyBlaze
I play on the ps2. I don't really mind the flipping the ball to the pitcher thing because i usually just run to the base with my 1b guy. It's nice to be able to do it though because sometimes you can get a speedy runner that you usually wouldn't have a chance of getting by trying to beat him to the bag with the 1B.
