chakfu
Ok, here's the deal - I downloaded the white sox cyberface pack. Started my dynasty, and started playing against the white sox, and realized that my dynasty has Iguchi as 3243 whereas the facepack has him as 6314 or something. So I take 6314.fsh and rename it to 3243.fsh, import into portrait.big - go into the game, and now Taguchi has a black box for a face. Presumably because the image inside 3243.fsh still is 6314. So I open 3243.fsh in FshEd and rename the object to 3243. I reimport, and now the file crashes the game. I tried a different way, opening 3243.fsh with nfshtool, text editing the index.fsh so it should re-pack with the name 3243 instead of 6314, and it crashes again. How do I edit the 6314.fsh so it is a correctly working 3243.fsh?? If the answer is to import the picture into an existing 3243.fsh, then how is it possible to create a portrait with a brand new ID# that does not exist in the game? xiberger
What you need to to is change the attachment "name" inside the fsh file. To do so, open the file in FshEd and click on "name". Then go under "Object" --> "Export" (check the box that says "Binary Data Only") and save it under "name". Ok, now it starts getting tricky. I had a lot of problems changing the numbers with text editors, so I started using HEX editors and it worked! Open the extracted "name" file in any HEX editor and change the numbers to match your id system. In your case, you have to change it from "6314" to "3243". After it's done, save the file and go back into FshEd. Open your fsh file and click on name again. Now go under "Object" --> "Import" and select your altered "name" file (make sure that "label" is set on "name" as well). Finally, you have to click on "Import" and you're done! Save your new fsh and import it into the game!
chakfu
That worked, thanks! Interesting you don't even have to change the name except in the name field and it works.
