THE TRIBE SHUTOUT CHISOX IN OPENER

Belliard and Cabrera go yard but Sabathia leaves after 4(injury)

The season got started off the right foot today when the Indians shutout the White Sox 4-0.Sabathia appeared to be crusing but an injury slwed him down after throwing a pitch to end the fourth inning and C.C. left the game. The offense came out swing putting 11 hits on the board which included Home Runs by Ronnie Belliard and Miguel Cabrera both off of Mark Buehrle.Bad baserunning cost the Indians more runs by getting thrown out at the plate twice and not retreating on fly balls fast enough. The Indians hit into 4 dps including one with the bases loaded.

INDIANS LOSE HEARTBREAKER

Indians have 4-1 lead headed into the bottom of the ninth and closer Bob Wickman chokes.

It looked like the Indians were gonna take this one but the bullpen spoils the sweep.Travis Hafner homered three times in the lose.It was 4-1 in the ninthand back to back to back singles made it 4-2.Willie Harris tried to bunt but he popped out foul. Then Paul Konerko picked up his first hit of the game and the bases were loaded and up stepped "The Big Hurt"and he drillled the Wickman delivery into the Leftfield seats for a Walk-Off Grand Slam, which was also his first hit of the season.

Manager Report:

"We came out swinging.Travis was hitting the ball the best I ever seen.We have to close out games.Just because we're winning and its the ninth doesnt mean the game is over, esspecially against a lineup like that.

Travis Hafner"My bat was alive today.I was driving the ball like I never had before.I felt really comfortable at the plate and it seemed like every ball I swung at found the meat of the bat and left the yard."

Bob Wickman"It was a fluke.I just did'nt have it today,it wont happen again.I made a terribel pitch to Thomas and he did what he usually does."

Why would the Marlins trade two of their best young players and want an old unjured bum as part of the deal. I am sorry but this makes no sense. The marlins would not trade Cabrera.

I agree, but it is his dynasty. He can pretty much do what he chooses as long as the computer AI feels they are getting a good deal in return. Gonzales would not be a good deal..... :lmao: :lmao: :wtg: you go sheff...get em going again 1995 BABY! ! ! ! !
