MarkB
I think people would like a little more information on the project before commiting to anything. Do you have a website, a mission plan, anything? Also, if you want to be taken seriously, I would strongly advise using proper capitalisation and punctuation, as well as avoiding "u".
eggman05
Sorry, This new game will include some real baseball features, such as the following: 40-man rosters, all minor league teams, rule 5 draft, extended spring training, minors do spring training to, longer amatur draft, winter meetings, fall leagues, winter leagues, and finally, real contracts and options. A website will be posted soon for more information. If you would like to volunteer some time into this, it would be very much appreciate. Thank you! 1927yankee
how would you make a rule 5 draft 40 man rosters. ps i might help a litle
eggman05
We have people that are going to design the game and are going to put that in it. For the Rule 5 Draft, teams with less than 40 players on their 40-man roster can partipate. Mostly, only minor leaguers get selected.
1927yankee
since you want realism i started a thread asking which plyers had hair in the game and were bald in reality or vice versa its in the support section. i might make cyberfaces taking away or giving hair to those people so please chime in also you can use those faces for mvp 2006 if you want. also i made a new sky for the game if i end up uploading it you can use that too

What are you making your own video game or modding MVP 2005? I though it was impossible to put a new feature into the game. Whatever your doing though....Good Luck! 1927yankee
if your making A NEW GAME then you cant use any face mods uni mods or graphic mods or rosters unless you use the same file types as easports
capa
Are you going to be doing new motion capture for the graphics? That seems like a huge undertaking. Or are you modding the current 2005 game adding the things you think EA screwed up or left out? I can't see how an independent group of guys could put out anything in a graphical mode that would rival what multi-million dollar companies like EA do. There may be room for a new text based type game, although Diamond Mind and Out of the Park seem to have that covered as well. Just what is the scope of your effort? What exactly are you seeking to create? A new graphical video game?
mastasports1
Unless you have A) Support from a major company Millions of dollars in financial support C) Years of 24/7 production or are planning on modding the current MVP Baseball product in some fashion which is unknown even to the best of them here this game is going to turn out like an Atari Frogger. BUT If this is purely through a .GUI with no actual gameplay.. it could be done...in 2 years! :lmao:
thespungo
I second that mastasports, this guy's looney ...
JoltinJoeCarter
so you guys are actual programmers?? not being mean but matsasports might be right. i hope you prove us wrong tho, good luck!
NYM
How would you make gameplay? How would you create all new player models? How would you do anything? The best modders on this site can't even make a stadium from scratch (not insulting just saying its really hard). How do you propose you are going to make a game from a group of people from one website? You would also need to pay the people who are going to make the game with you. What your talking about is getting people to make a whole creation for free. But seriously man. You better end up going through every file in EA and do something special and making the game greater than trying to make a new game from scratch. Like MastaSports said....you need millions of dollars (hey I got 700!!lol) and 24/7 work to get ti done by even May, or it will be (and I laughed at this one) and Atari Frogger game :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: like Masta Sports also said. Not trying to put you down, but you might want to reconsider making a whole new game from scratch. But if you do somehow do this. Can you hire Keith Hernadez and Tom Seaver to be the announcers. (and Yankee fans better not ask for Micheal K.lol :lmao: I love his scouting reports on Mussina :lmao: :lmao: )
1927yankee
i advise you to mod the 05 version
NYM
WAIT!!!! Make a time machine, go into the future (2013 i think EA Maked there next game) and claim it as your own! Whatever your doing though. Good Luck...if I could mod (or had the game for PC) i would help mod.
MarkB
I would offer to help if I had any indication that this would get off the ground, but I seriously doubt it will, for the reasons that mastasports1 correctly stated.
Expos4Ever
Kudo to you if you can "do" a new game. EA spend millions of dollars and there are still plenty of crap in their game... What I can help? :chin: Menu Graphic and team based arts.
wickethewok
*Shakes head* You should probably quit before you waste all your time. MVP took a year+ to make with dozens of experienced people working full time on it. The graphics alone will eat you alive. Maybe a text based MVP '06? >>JMarquis throw fastball JBay hits a fly ball to deep center. You see a golden key. >>JEdmonds North JEdmonds is eaten by a troll. Game Over. Actually that sounds pretty good... WickeThEwok
hh20xxconvert
The best hope for a good 2006 game is continued modding of MVP2005, with updated rosters and maybe additional features from additonal development of MVPEdit, MVPSavReader, etc. and maybe new mods from the talented fans out there. It is amazing what the modders have already added to this game, so maybe additonal improvements can be figured out----starting from scratch would be hundreds of times harder, and if you got anywhere close to success, would likely attract attention from the lawyers----volunteer for this at your own risk. sfgiantsflgators
hh20xxconvert] would likely attract attention from the lawyers----volunteer for this at your own risk. there's no "likely" about it - if you were miraculously able to make a new game from scratch that didn't involve Edmonds getting eaten by a troll ( :lmao: wickethewok) you can bet you'd have lawsuits out the ***. really, if EA has been banned from making a new one, there's none chance they are going to let a group of unknowns do it. the real plan should be to continue modding 'ought 5 - the modders on this site have already increased the extended playability of this fine game 100%+... :hail:
1927yankee
i stand by what i said the best idea is to just mod almost everything in 2005
