The Italian Interactive Pirates Dinasty's Report

Buffa

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I'm from Italy, perhaps the only Pirates fan in my country . First of all i apologize myself for my bad English so i need that your comments (if there will be) be short and comprehensive to me.

Briefly i said that my settings are:

DIFFICULTY = ALL STAR

ROSTERS = REALMANIA 2.5 + PROGRESSION V.2

DATAFILE = RODDATA2 modded by myself for a better Broadcast View

SLIDERS = tweaked a little bit (you know, they are the Pirates!).

What's new in this Dinasty? I will ask you for helpful suggestions, not only comments. Every week you could intervene by a poll in the team's management, lineups&pitching rotations, call-up&send-down and so on.

This week before starting I asked you which outfielders and SP at spot #5

i have to choose.

MY first two polls will run only for one day, next ones at least for two days.

Please don't forget to see my results at http://it.geocities.com/rusellum/pit/PIT.html, so you can suggest me the best for my Pirates.

Ciao

Una persona che piace baseball in Italia? Non ho pensato che una persona segue baseball in Italia! Sorry if my Italian is bad. I'm almost fluent! Anyway, I'm looking forward to a dynasty by an Italian! I didn't think Italians had an interest in baseball.

The Pirates season's opening:

The new foreign ownership and team management know that this one will not be a playoff's season; the team goal is to get more than .500 winning percentage and to see O. Perez at All Star Game.

Hi Sarginto, i think that your Italian is better than my English, sure.

I posted my first game report; for next ones there will be more on action pictures but I think to post only the most considerable games, cause of i need too much time to create report as i like. I'll play all the games and you can see my dinasty at http://it.geocities.com/rusellum/pit/PIT.html

Have you italian relatives?

Ciao from Italy.

So next series Pittsburgh Pirates @ S.Diego Padres.

I think to post two of the four matches and then for other two i'll publish a short review.

I need desperatly a lefthander setup: suggest me a lot of names and i'll try to trade for them. At last, the ownership from Italy should

like some Italian players to be in the Pirates roster, other than Piazza or Baldelli. Have you any names?

Thank you in advance, ciao a tutti.

4/7-8/2005 Pittsburgh @ S. Diego

Game 1 PIRATES 1 - PADRES 2

giornale7ls.th.jpg

Starting Pitchers:

1.JPG2.jpg

W A. Otsuka (1-0)

L S.Torres (0-1)

S T. Hoffman (1-0)

A few hits match with a decent pitching game by Redman. Pirates leaded until 6th then S.Diego definitely came back with a bouncer by pitcher W.Williams to the center off S. Torres, bringing in the winning run.

*Sorry I lost my boxscores in the hotel near Petco Park.

Game 2

giornale6iw.th.jpg

Starting Pitchers:

1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

A thrilling game as you never saw!

As usual Pittsburgh at lead thanks to an homer to the left by Redman.

J. Fogg at first apparition allowed only three hits during his six innings with a BB and three K's. Then bullpen came in: M. Gonzalez, first pitch at a sweet location and bum! a solo shot by R. Hernandez and the game was tied. McClendon fainted in the dugout!

In the attempt to catch the ball J. Bay hurted himself with a minor PCL sprain (7 days).

In the 13th S. Torres allowed a double to M. Sweeney so losing his 2nd game.

Notes from S.Diego:

Help me! I'll try to trade for K.Mercker or D. Marte, I wanna send down M. Gonzalez. Other suggestions?

T. Wigginton e J.Castillo homered batting in four runs.

Another solid offensively performance by J.Wilson with 3 for 5: his batting average now is at .360

McClendon said:"...ours is a team which has time need to grow and improve." From Italy they said:"...stop losing!"

Pittsburgh's bullpen was not able to preserve the advantage when Grabow comes in for K.Wells with two bases loaded.

Game 2:

Sorry but I lost screenshots!

That was the score

linescore8.jpg

Only one thing to say: in the 8th S.Torres on the mound and Milwaukee drove in five runs; Torres lost his third game. Pittsburgh's hitters didn't help never finding the right ball.

After the game J.Grabow was sent down to Indianapolis and they called up M.Johnston to replace S.Torres as setup.

From Italian newspapers: "...maybe Pirates need a new team's management?" Unfortunately here where I'm writing from, we have only good soccer trainers.

So next game, third one @ Milwaukee, could be the final test. Don't miss it!

He has gone! Milwaukee swept away the Pirates in a close result game.

Pittsburgh took the lead in the 2th and 4th with Castillo and above all J.Wilson (HR) but as usual bullpen hadn't able to minimize Milwaukee's rally.

After the match a call came from Italy: "Thanks Mr. McClendon but you're out"; pitching coach was temporarily named as GM.

4/15/2005 Chicago Cubs @ Pittsburgh Pirates

giornale4gv.th.jpg

First game without McClendon in the bench substituted by pitching coach Spin Williams.

The guys scared by the news from Italy, a complete rearrangement in the roster, played very intensely as they never did before.

So in the 1st inning they took the lead by 3 runs but immediately in the 2th Ramirez and Burnitz hit solo home runs. In the 6th J.Dubois doubled for two runs giving the lead to Cubs.

It seemed another x in the loss column but in the 8th a row of three singles loaded the bases. C.Wilson and J.Bay brought in 3 runs off reliever Novoa. R.White and J.Mesa pitched strong innings not allowing hits to the Chicago's sluggers and so it was the WIN
