Sarginto
I don't know if this is just a mental block I have, but I can never hit for power with right handed hitters. Especially Piazza. I always pop up with him, I don't understand it. Even if I think my timing is perfect, it's a damn pop up. This goes for every right handed hitter though. I can never pull for power. Does anyone have any tips?
cybernetic
the point is you gotta hit the ball cleanly and time the swing if you dont do that right u pop up or get a weak ground out if you're trying to hit homers
sowapowa
R v R matchups are gonna be a lot harder since you have that bad angle. I would stay away from hitting for power if you don't have a strike to give away. The fastball rides in on you really quickly. If you insist on hitting for power, you should look for off speed stuff inside instead of the fastball. You'd better make sure that its up in the zone though. rusmur
You are right. I have noticed the same thing with all my right handers vs. last year. With a left hander and an inside fast ball I have no trouble at all pulling the ball. But with right handers, most of my homeruns go to right center or right. It seems that they fixed the left handed power problem they had last year but somehow screwed up the right handers. I don't suppose there is a line or 2 in the data file that might correct this? Anybody have any ideas.
newsdude477
Does a better cam angle make RvsR matchuos easier for you guys? If so which one.
Valiknicoff
I just started a franchise and fantasy drafted Mikey. He is a pretty good hitter. Tips- When R-R , hit for more contact than power. When contact hitting you just want to leave the stick dead center , take a few picthes, and wait for something good to hit. Don't start aiming the hitstick unless you have to. Since Mike isn't your leadoff hitter , you already should have a good idea of what pithces you get will be hittable. Just take picthes until you get a pitch you can handle. Don't be afraid to give up a 2nd strike in your hittable zones. That is usually a junk pitch to get a ground out or pop up. Only drive those pitches if you are well prepared for it. The best advice for hitting in this game, is learning not to swing. Now against lefty pitches, bring out the big bat for the long ball , hack at anthing up in the zone! I find it is harder to hit with great hitters because I try and do too much. Where with hitters that have limitations I am more selective because I have to be. If you learn to be selective with a good hitter, when they make good contact it's likely going to be a good hit more than anyone else.
