Guest
Hey guys.. I'm having trouble hitting the ball for power ... I have a hard time being patient at the plate especially against the slower pitchers who might go off-speed with a 90+ fastball then 80 change up. Help. Thx. Jeeper
I love the title. Good thing you clarified about which kinda scoring, because otherwise I may have thought you were talking about defensive scoring. LOL. Just giving you a hard time.

Expos4Ever
Patience man, Patience. And if you want power, use the Bosox and don't use the A's
RonBurgundy
Ha, for me, HRs are the ONLY way I score. Because the CPU always catches ANY and ALL line-drives I hit. I hate it when I pound a line-drive with a left hander and a 1B joggs under it and catches it.
Guest
I tried using The Astros but I still can't hit for much power. I can double here and there but HR are impossible.. I either pop it up, ground out or shallow fly... how do you hit HR's Donut? any specifics.. like sliders.. datafiles.?

But look, I got A-Rod, Jeter, Sheff, Matsui, Williams, Posada, and Giambi in my line-up. Anything in the zone is going places. But I mostly hit sliders and fastballs for homers. Curveballs, knucklecurves, and screwballs are pulled singles or other line-drives. Splitters are opposite field hits. I can't even make contact on Knuckleballs. Guest
Does X-box have like push ^ button like the one similar to the keyboard? If yes do you use it?
RonBurgundy
Does X-box have like push ^ button like the one similar to the keyboard? If yes do you use it? Anything up and in I swing for the fences, push the trigger left-up(for righties). Up and away, I just push the trigger away and up.

Guest
What would happen if you just press up?
twinkies
hold the up and i normally use the left arrow for righties and right arrow for lefties. Lots of HR but no other hits for the most part. Righties--- 4 and 8 Lefties --- 6 and 8 This works best w/ fastballs inside.
RonBurgundy
What would happen if you just press up? Probably a fly-ball. Unless the pitch is in the middle of the plate, at which point if you have a power slugger, it can go a looong way.
Guest
Thanks Guys. So you would be hitting the HR to your side of the stadium right? Like if your a righty you go to right field? Just checking. Thx.
RonBurgundy
Thanks Guys. So you would be hitting the HR to your side of the stadium right? Like if your a righty you go to right field? Just checking. Thx. I go with the pitch, if it's in the zone, but looks outside, I go the other way. If it's inside, I just swing for the fences. Remember DON'T try to pull outside pitches, if you have a good power-hitter and swing on an outside pitch to go the other way for a homer, sometimes it will end up a pulled homer because you might swing early. I've done this a couple times with Matsui and Giambi.
sowapowa
I think you want to hold up + a direction because you dont want a fly ball to center. Centerfield is really deep. You might see more doubles just pushing up, but i'm pretty sure you'll see more homeruns if you direct your hit.
Guest
Do you guys always hold up and direction with your power hitters? or like when you are winning and just try to swing for more runs?

sowapowa
I take lots of pitches with my leadoff guys or fast players. I will take until I see a strike and I will continue to take until the pitch count is even. With mediocre guys, I take pitches early on because the pitcher has full strength but late in the game I will swing away because he wont have mustard on his pitches. With the power guys, I will always look to hit the ball hard. I think that's what they are paid to do. My approach is to look inside while holding up and in. I will take any pitch that is not inside. When there are two strikes, I start to look toward hitting a single. When there are two outs with a runner in scoring position, I will look to hit a single. Expos4Ever
Do you guys always hold up and direction with your power hitters? or like when you are winning and just try to swing for more runs? for me who use keyboard, I only swing for the fence when the base is empty with my good hitters. I always look for HR balls before getting 2 strikes and when you get the 2S, just try to make contact. Curveball is the easiest to hit for HR.
