paulw
Just thought I'd share with you a very cool article on Ebbets Field from a very old (like me?) book. It talks about Beford Ave. behind the right field wall. Now when you clear that right field wall in Ebbets, use that Right Field replay camera. See if you're duplicating the Duke. I love watching these :spin:
Padres67
What a neat article-a different era and a great era for baseball that will, sadly, never be repeated-thanks for sharing that with us.
paulw
I like the part about getting the home run balls autographed. Don't think that happens very much anymore. Best I have is one I got Cecil Cooper and Paul Molitor's autograph on. Cecil used to play golf with my neighbor - and we were just plain folks living in the city. But *THAT* was 25 years ago. mflv
That still goes on today on Waveland avenue over the left field fence and Sheffield over the right field fence at Wrigley Field. Sometimes when the visiting team hits the homer, they throw it back onto the field all the way from outside the park.
