medric822
That was based on how they both did in 03, in 03, Giambi rocked, and Ortiz Sucked.

Dan
This Series - 3 Games, Home vs Baltimore Orioles Game 3: Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees Yankees Pull Out With Win Left: Alex Rodriguez dries a 476-foot shot to centerfield. Right: Jorge Posada heads for home to end the game while Tony Womack (left) runs to first. Tim Wakefield excelled in his Yankees debut despite a defensive collapse and the Yankees pulled out of a 7-7 tie in an 8-7 win last night in the first game of a three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles last night at Yankee Stadium. Wakefield, who recently joined the Yankees yesterday, threw six scoreless innings and struck out three, but left the game in the seventh after three balls hit to left field that should have been cut off were missed by Hideki Matsui, allowing five runs that shouldn't have scored. Darryl May relieved and finished off the inning, striking out the remaning two batters in the inning, and retiring one more in the top of the ninth with bases loaded and two outs. Tony Womack singled home the winning run in the ninth, a sharply hit ground ball down the first base line, skipping over the glove of Orioles first baseman Rafael Palmeiro, scoring Jorge Posada. Posada went 3-4 with an RBI, and Derek Jeter, returning to the Yankees after injuring his shoulder, went 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Alex Rodriguez drove a solo shot deep into centerfield, 476 feet from home. The Yankees scored four runs in the fourth inning, and three more in the fifth, making the score 7-0. Sidney Ponson, the starter for the Orioles, only made it through 4 innings, being relieved by John Parrish. Jorge Julio was saddled with the loss, and Darryl May got the win. medric822
Shouldn't the box score read, Orioles, not Red Sox?

Dan
This Series - 3 Games, Home vs Baltimore Orioles Game 2: Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees Doesn't Get Much "Mora" Better Then This Left: Joe Torre has a talk with the umpire about a call at second base. Right: Orioles players celebrate after the game. Melvin Mora homered in the 10th inning to end a 0-0 game and the Baltimore Orioles held the powerful Yankee offense to seven hits as the Orioles tied the series this afternoon with a 1-0 win over the New York Yankees. Al Leiter started for the Yankees, throwing all ten innings, allowing six hits, only one an extra base hit. Bruce Chen started for the O's, but only lasted six innings, leaving when the Yankees loaded the bases on a walk, single, and error. Jorge Julio threw to the ninth, and closer B.J. Ryan closed the game. Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez each went 2-4 with a double, and Gary Sheffield, the team's leading hitter, went just 1-3 with a single. seven of the game's ten innings were hitless, and the top five people of the Oriole's lineup were the hitters, Mora 2-4 with a home run and a double, and Miguel Tejada, Sammy Sosa, Javy Lopez and Brian Roberts each with a single. The Yankees will face the Orioles for the final game in the series tomorrow night at 7:05 in New York. Randy Johnson starts for the Yankees, and Rodrigo Lopez will take the mound for the Orioles.
