spymoose
Does anyone else have problems actually producing with the guys that are supposed to produce? For instance, as the Red Sox: Damon and Renteria rarely get on base and if they do it's with 2 outs. Ramirez and Ortiz rarely hit HR when there is someone on base. Solo HRs or pops + groundouts with men on is what happens. Then I hit the middle of the order (even 5-9 I could say) and they can load the bases consistenly. This is horribly annoying because I like stats to be realistic and the fact that the top of my order can never knock in runs or get on base for each other makes little sense when Millar, Nixon and Varitek are getting on base often, knocking in runs, etc. And it doesn't matter if I aim for a linedrive, home run, unaimed shot, etc. - it seems my "stars" are so prone messing up when in a position to knock in runs and the only offense seems to be single HRs a lot of the time. Does anyone else have this problem and if not, any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks
Roscosuper
It might be how you are approaching your hitting,.....for instance, when you have your "big guys" up, you might be trying to do to much, trying to crush the ball all the time, and when you have your weaker hitters up, you might be trying to just get on base......if you're playing a season, and you have a guy in a funk, try keeping it simple with him
ming
The sliders are the key! Try upping user con or lowering the ai def sliders for speed or catch effort. The data file you use also has a big impact. For a while, I had to turn up the power....then I tried trues latest df and realized that it was the data file I was using( Trues doesnt seem to tinker w/ the ball physics). I STILL play around w/ the sliders though. I just want as good a simulation as possible. I hope this helps, spymoose.

spymoose
Roscosuper, yeh that's what I thought too but then I realized that I didn't really do anything different. Like say there is bases loaded with 1 out, I will go for the homer because even if I don't get it out I should drive in a run and avoid a grounder. However, it seems with my big hitters even when I make good contact and am playing for a homer I'll groundout. I'll keep trying, maybe it's just something I'm not noticing I'm doing by accident; it just isn't any fun watching my 5-9 players knocking in RBIs (and hitting HRs without trying) while 2 guys who should provide most of Boston's offense can barely get on base let alone knock in a run. ming, I mess with the slider quite a bit because of this problem but a new datafile is a good idea. I do have the one with altered ball physics, so maybe I'll get one without it and see how it works for me. Thanks guys, any other suggestions or people with the same problem are welcome to post.
