sccommish
After installing the two patches for mvp 2005, of course the game ran too fast. After trying the fixes posted on EA Sports and here, the game still runs with the fast game play. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times now! I have an ATI Radeon 9600. I use the latest drivers from ATI. I can't figure it out! Can anyone help me? Thank you
jkilla74
yes, you have to change the refresh rate to 60 in the ati control panel properties.... Its a pain in the .....
sccommish
Thanks for the info. I'm sure I already tried it, but I'll give it another try.
spitoon
Additionally, you have to ensure that VSync is set ON in both your video card control panel and in the game...I think it's a bit hard to find in the video card control panel (I don't have an ATI card so I can't be sure)... Griffey_Jr_fan
Hello I had the same problem after installing patch #3, so i came here to maybe find a fix for it. So i turned on v sync in ati panel, and it is back to normal speed for me. I have a 9600 xt, but i use omega drivers not catalyst. Well thanks for the help, sorry commish i am not trying to hi jack or derail your thread. (I guess we have the same card it seems)
sccommish
Hey Griff, thanks for the info! Could you tell me where to download the Omega drivers? I finally figured it out. I had to move the slider in the Catalyst Control Center all the way to the right, not to the left, like EA Sports support said. It is much better now, but the Omega drivers might help even more. I've heard they are better.

I've heard they are better. I posted on this site a long time ago (when the patch first came out) about the mistake that EA made on the website to turn to the left instead of the right. I wonder how EA could mess up so bad & then not correct this in their instructions. Turning to the left turns OFF V-sync. It needs to be turned to the right to turn it on. Griffey_Jr_fan
Neat Glad it worked out for you - so you did find the omega drivers then? I don't know what made me change to omega from catalyst, but the omega is doing fine running eq2, bf2, mvp2k5, and we8 with no problems(graphics wise).
