RFK Stadium

We all saw it coming. No wonder Jose Guillen has like 1 dinger at home. Just think, it's 345 to the left-center power alley in Citizen's Bank Park and 50 MORE FEET at the left-center power alley in RFK Stadium.

Yeah, I always thought there was something up with the stadium. Well it looks like the stadium modders are going to have to get to work on this!

Wow thats really insane. It makes it even more of an unlikeable stadium. Not only do people think it looks bad and doesn't have the correct facilities (excuse spelling), but now the players wont want to play their. With the exception of players like Jose Reyes and Juan Pierre. Hopefully they have anice stadium when it opens.

What were the people thinking?

For those of you who don't understand, it's what's called a "Pitcher's Park". Pitching is always going to rule at RFK, and except for Frank Howard ( :hail: ), it almost always has.

It amazes me that professional ball players moan and groan about a number that's plastered on the wall, and bemoan the fact that they should have more home runs than they really do in RFK. Well, whether the number is 380 or 580, YOU EITHER HAVE THE POWER OR YOU DON'T!! I look at it as a little thing called "adjusting your game to suit the surroundings", and these guys know what's there without the numbers. Crying about that is just so bogus!

While you make some good points, at the same time where homeruns are the flash that makes a big deal to fielding ballplayers (as opposed to pitchers) as far as negotiating a contract salary... to think that a ballplayer signs with a team thinking that he is going to be able to hit X amount of homeruns based on how he hits, only to find out he was bamboozled, (because of false dimensions) something is very wrong with that scenario in my book.

...don't you think that it is at least a little disturbing that players nowadays feel they either hit home runs (which has no direct correlation to winning) or they cannot play?

What if a player thinks he will hit 50 home runs, but instead, hits 30 with 150 RBIs? What a terrible year he had!

I read the original story in the Washington Post where Frank Robinson essentially said that a certain player was told that "that hit would have been a home run in the Reds ballpark, so we will give you credit for the homerun". Sounds to me like management is taking RFK's quirks into consideration. Time will tell.
