cybernetic
I played my first game on MVP difficulty today after all-star became too easy to pitch.. pros: I scored 5 runs on 2 home runs and got 9 hits not a lot of trouble hitting once I make contact pitching is realistic (except the low/outside for home runs) cons: I have no plate discipline and swing wildly at bat pitches I strike out far too often (again on bad pitches out of the zone) lost 7-5 despite scoring 5 runs CPU smacks pitches low and outside for home runs so overall I'd rate it a success.. I thought it would be a huge problem to make the adjustment but it wasn't
Don
do u use hitter's eye when batting?

cybernetic
yes but I never look at it and use instinct which is probably my whole problem.. I find that if I look at it my timing gets messed up and I swing late on fastballs and early on off-speed pitches
Don
thats probably why, hitters eye always helps me. It helps me prepare for the movement, speed, and a timely swing.
Ineedaname
ya, I win often on MVP, however what I like about it is i still lose, so the game doesn't get too easy and boring. The thing about hitter's eye that helps me is dont look for the ball color as the pitcher is releasing it as that can mess timing up, rather look for the color as the pitcher is going through his wind-up. JuUaAn
yea hitters eye is definitely a big advantage since you'll rarely get caught out in front of changeups.

mooseknucks
I haven't been using hitters eye since I've been playing MVP. I was horrible at first, but now I've got the hang of it. Homers are terribly easy on 4-seams and hanging pitches. If you hit it at just the right spot, you don't have to use any controls and it will go out. Mistake pitches are no fun, so I've found aiming off the corners just enough, and hitting it at close to perfect gets K's at an alarming rate. Tidalwav90
I use hitter's eye while he is winding up and on MVP mode in my first month I'm 14-5. My only problem are pithers different windups (Hideo Nomo screwed me up at first) and when some pitchers are really slow or really fast. Either way I usually am able to adjust by the second time around. I also hate batting lefty and pitching is easy unless in extra innings.
Tidalwav90
I also hate when you think it will be a curveball and instead it is a slider.
Kccitystar
I also hate when you think it will be a curveball and instead it is a slider. I hate the pitchers that also have a cutter in their arsenal because it confuses you with the white color when you're anticipating a fastball. mooseknucks
I forget who has it but one pitcher I hate throws a 4-seam, 2-seam, cutter, slider, curve. WTF?! Needless to say whenever I come across him I get PWNED. :wall:
JuUaAn
The 2-seamers usually throw me off because it's got that late movement and is slower than the 4-seam. I'm usually out in front of that one. I totally agree with the curve and slider being the same colour. I get fooled on those too.
cybernetic
I have trouble with some pitchers who had a slow wind up but throw really hard as well because the pitch is just right there like that at the end of the wind up which is really hard to time
YanksAllDaWay81
i think its more realistic that way becuase in reality a cutter is meant to fool hitters. What i hate is when im facing a guy that throws a 98mph fastball so when i see the white i figure to swing early but he ends up throwing a 90mph 2-seamer. probaseball203
if you ever face maddux..youll have a field day..when he raises the glove he shows the ball..any pitcher who raises the ball duz..and also satchel paige shows it greatly as well as bob gibson
cybernetic
well I'm gonna start a Jays dynasty on MVP when jogar and khinske's Jays face sets come up. Jogar's will be done Wednesday or Thursday and khinske's I don't know but I'll have plenty of time to practice in MVP and get used to the pitching.. Arroyo threw me 4 straight slurves in a row at one time
