fabiomontiel
Its impossible, everytime i try to steal 2nd or 3rd, the catcher take out for like a mile... Even with chone figgins or orlando cabrera running... Is there some kind of trick or something? Thnx
Bicksta
You may want to try adjusting your "User Steal Speed" slider a bit. Add about 10. That can help balance it.
spitoon
I had to drop "USER Steal Delay" to -5 to steal bases at an appropriate rate.
Shef87
Always check the opposing team's catcher's throwing accuracy/strength ratings and determine who you have a better chance of stealing off of based on that. You obviously wouldn't try to often to steal off Pudge or B. Molina, and the count is a part of it too. I usually don't steal unless it is a 2-1 count or something that would rule out the pitch out, thereby increasing the chance of stealing. 2 out situations are good to go on too, especially with a 2 strike count

paulw
I "cheat" a bit because concentrating on getting a good lead and batting is just too much for me. I have set my user steal speed to +15. You're still usually get thrown out on fastballs but suceed on breaking balls and the runner getting a good jump. Steal speed +20 is even still reasonable. Shef87
Oh yeah dude...I love playing the Mets, Mike couldn't throw out David Ortiz if his life depended on it..
cybernetic
I don't steal often but I found out the best way is to take an aggressive lead and after they try about 3 pickoff attempts in that at-bat they stop and once the count is in your favor as the hitter try to get a good jump and leave as the pitcher is about to deliver that way u have a better chance of stealing.. also don't try to steal with guys who have less than an 80 speed rating or u won't get anywhere they'll get thrown out almost all the time.. even guys with ratings in the 80s get thrown out if u go on a bad pitch to steal on
sowapowa
To steal a base, have a fast runner on 1b. I never try to steal 3rb; There is no point in stealing 3b anyway. Anywho, you take a 2 step lead. Make sure you dont push steal until the pitcher starts his motion, then you slide to the outside the base away from the catcher side. Sliding on the outside is key. All that stuff about messing with the sliders is really unnecessary. I think steals are way too easy as it is. If a catcher is bad, all your guys with 80 speed or so can steal. jservice
I set my "USER Steal Delay" to -7 to steal bases and I play on MVP level. Set that to -50 and keep lowering it till your happy with the number of steals you have. Good luck.
AcousticNut
then you slide to the outside the base away from the catcher side. Sliding on the outside is key. It bears repeating again and again..... Slide head-first to the outside part of the bag (up and right on your analog stick). I had a lot of trouble stealing until I discovered this. Now I have a very good success rate on the bags stealing both 2nd and 3rd. Good luck.
ShesHotSheSteals
Question for the pro's. Does pitch speed and windup have any effect on stealing bases?
AcousticNut
Not so sure about the windup, but pitch speed most certainly has an affect. You can steal all day against a knuckle-baller, and have much more success against a curve than a fastball.
natefizzle
Yeah curves and knucklers are better to steal on.
