Shef87
I started a dynasty with Detroit because I was just tired of picking the Yankees and Cardinals and all the good teams, so I picked Detroit because of my man Pudge.. But I was just wondering something about 2 of the pitchers, do J. Johnson and N. Robertson really only have 3 pitches? I find that kind of hard to believe for guys who have been in the league for a while. Thanks Link to comment https://www.mvpmods.com/forums/topic/13551-q-for-any-avid-detroit-tiger-game-watchers/ Share on other sites
mooseknucks
It's not unlikely. I rarely watch the Tigers because I don't live in Detroit or Michigan, but I know Dontrelle Willis throws three pitches and he's actually quite dominant. I'm not sure it matters how long you're in the league. Good pitchers don't neccessarily have 5 pitches all the time. Nolan had 5 pitches to throw but kept guys off balance with 2 or 3 of them 90% of the game (4-seam, change, 2-seam). Anyways, I think it's quite likely that they only have three pitches. It's benefitial in the game though because the computer continually guesses and often guesses wrong. Cash #25
I watch nearly every game the Tigers play, and am also running a Tiger dynasty. I can't really answer your question, but I'll tell you what I do know. Jason Johnson's pitches tend to do many things. I see what looks like a huge 11-5 curveball that he throws when he wants a wild pitch  and a tighter breaking ball, the slider. The announcers lately have been referring to a knucklecurve, but I can't substantiate that. I've been considering adding more pitches to his repertoire (sp?) just to make it more realistic. My question for you is which rosters are you using? I use Ultimate Rosters 1.0 and it shows both these guys with four pitches. The basic four, 4-seamer, 2-seamer, slider, and changeup. I'll be happy to try and answer any Tiger questions you have, although I didn't do too well on this one. JP_Frost
you could always check espn's scouting reports. A guy like K-Rod only throws a 4 seam and slider, but because he can vary the movement on his slider, he should also have a slurve. Same goes for Oliver Perez. So it could be that those guys you mentioned essentially have 3 pitches, but perhaps they throw variations of those pitches as well ( change and circle change, curve and knucklecurve, etc. ) Link to comment https://www.mvpmods.com/forums/topic/13551-q-for-any-avid-detroit-tiger-game-watchers/#findComment-164199 Share on other sites
Shef87
I do all the rosters myself. I can't D/L anything unfortunately because my computer is trash. I have a set of rosters saved with most of the trades made in the league. So, they still have 3 pitches each in my game. J. Johnson has a change, 4 seamer and a curve..... and Robertson has a 4 seamer, 2 seamer and a change........or it's the other way around, but anyway that's what they have, no slider for Johnson or anything. And what's your record and difficulty and all that stuff? Any roster moves? I have it on MVP, record at the moment is 19-7, heading into a tough series tonight with Boston. I have the rosters identical to the ones in real life, only I have Carlos Pena playing 1st base instead of Shelton because Pena is better defensively Link to comment https://www.mvpmods.com/forums/topic/13551-q-for-any-avid-detroit-tiger-game-watchers/#findComment-164230 Share on other sites
