robskicks
What's your most heartbreaking loss? I just finished a game against the Giants were my rookie pitcher Tim Stauffer pitched a 1 hitter for 12 innings, untill being pulled out for walking a guy and having %12 endurance. He struck out Barry Bonds 4 times... a couple times with those blue meatballs, so it was lucky. Anyway I scored in the first inning with a homerun to center with Khalil Greene and I thought it was gonna be an easy scoring game... but I was wrong it went to the 16th inning. (Tim Stauffer's one hit was a homer in the 7th inning). Then in the 16th inning Barry Bonds redeemed himself with a walkoff homerun off pitcher Akinori Otsuka... :wall: That game was waaaaay too long to lose. It was on MVP btw. Ended 2-1. cybernetic
My most heart breaking loss was where I was throwing a perfect game into the 9th and on the 27th batter the guy belts a solo home run on the outside corner that was low to win 1-0 on a walk off
Superjolly
Ah, I have gone 16 before, but I won :wtg: Anyways, my most heartbreaking was this: As the Nationals, I was blasting the Mets one game. Going into the 9th, I was up 5-0 and was playing at home. I decided to leave Loiza in the game to pitch a complete game, and up to that point, he had dominated. First, a guy singles. Ok, no problem. Bang. Two-run homerun. Ok, still no problem. Next batter doubles. Ok, no problem. Bang. Two-run homerun. Now there is trouble. So I get 2 guys out, and am finally about to close it out 5-4, while I am warming up Cordero. Bang. Solo shot. Tied 5-5. Another single. Bang. Two-run blast. Suddenly I am down 7-5, just like that  . Finally I put in Cordero and he gets the out. Now for the really bad part: Bottom of the ninth, I get a double with Jamey Carroll. Next up, Jose Vidro jacks one deep. Way deep. I thought it was gone, but alas, it bounced off the way for a double, Carroll scores. 7-6. Up next is Tejada (I traded for him). Grounds out. Next up is Preston Wilson. Flies out. Down to my last out, but Nick Johnson is up. He is leading the league in home runs in that point of the season :hail: . I take 2 balls to make it 2-0 and am waiting for that inside fastball to jack to right field. A pitch comes in and I start to swing. But I check it and pull back. Unfortunatly, he still hits the ball and it comes off like a bunt and I am thrown out at first. Game over. :wall: :wall:   It was only my 2nd loss of the season too. Bicksta
1-0 to my actual fav team "Cards" I was playing as KC, because they are rated the worst, for the challenge of it. Lost in the bottom of the 13th on a RBI double by Edmonds. It was heartbreaking because my pitcher, Grienke, had pitched 12 straight scoreless innings and just refused to hand it over to the pen due to pride, hehe. I guess it got the best of him. Rematch will hopefully happen in the post season.

sfgiantsflgators
Me (Nats) vs. Phillies. I'm up 1-0 in the seventh inning when Phillies starter Randy Wolf hits a homerun to tie it up. :duh: Game would go 1-1 until the bottom of the 14th (give or take an inning - it was a few months ago) when Pat Burrell hit a walkoff, 2-1 Phillies. I still hit Burrell if he comes up with no one on - what a jerk.
bosox6690
I was facing the braves and in the bottom of the 9th chipper pulls a low and away splitter 402 feet to win the game.
northpaw
Not a loss but...up really late, like 330 and i'm playing my last game after playing a lot of owner mode games. Game ended up going 22 innings and i won. but because i was so tired and anxious to go to bed i hit power off. I lost like 2 months of owner mode and played a 22 inning game for nothing...it was a bad feeling.
YankeexDev
I was the Rockies in my dynasty against the padres, I made myself to be a pitcher, young rookie. I made him average bc he was 17, and my SP got injured so I wanted to see how he did in the majors. He freaking was pitching a perfect game into the 9th, and then he got really tired in the 9th and then he gave up a hit then a HR and they won 2-
iansimcox
2-2. Brewers @ Marlins (I'm Florida). Top of the 15th, 1 out. Brewers man (forget his name but he's fast) smacks the ball deep to the wall, Pierre throws the ball to Easley at SS who throws the ball to Lowell at 3rd as the Brewer is making his way there. It's a wild throw and Lowell can't get it. The Brewer gets up from his slide to third to complete the in-the-park homer and make it 3-2. And as if that wasn't bad enough, I got it to bases loaded 2 outs in the bottom of the inns, Miguel Cabrera (HR leader with 28) at bat. Strikes out. Heart breaking stuff at Dolphin Stadium
sdoyle7798
I was playing the as the Cards vs. Astros...0-0 top 8...Mulder on the mound for me...Oswalt was still pitching and came up to bat...1-2 cound, inside slider (I think, it was either that or a 2-seamer)....homerun. Then he sets me down 1-2-3 in the 8th and 9th. Final score, 1-0. Mulder went 9, and that was his only mistake... :wall:
AstroEric
What's ridiculous about that is that I just played through a game to test a cyberface, and decided I'd just try to hit homeruns with everybody. Biggio, Lane and Ensberg put one out apiece, but the real winner of the day was Oswalt who hit...three? --Eric

sfgiantsflgators
got a new nominee. couple days ago, in my dynasty, i'm (royals) facing off against the mariners. after ending the ninth tied 1-1 we went 19 innings. in the top of the 19th, i left steve stemle on the mound with 70% stamina after he had pitched the two previous innings figuring he had one more in him and not wanting to use any potential starters for the following games. well, in the top of the 19th, stemle gave up a single, a double, and a triple, in that order to lead off the inning. the mariners would score two that inning and i would lose 3-1. :wall: :eew:

Yankee4Life
Just the other day I had my toughest loss. I was playing online against Fuzzone. Fuzzone, if you don't know by now, is one of the best players of MVP 2005 on this board and probably anywhere else for that matter. He was the Twins and I was the Yankees, and he won the game 2 - 1. But it's how it ended that made it tough. Fuzz took a early 1-0 lead and I scored my only run when Tony Womack hit a low line drive that Tori Hunter tried to dive for and catch. But the ball got past him and rolled to the centerfield wall and Womack raced home with an inside the park homerun. That tied the game at 1 - 1. Fuzz took the lead again on a homerun. After that Womack hit, Twins starter Brad Radtke settled down. In the ninth, I had runners on first and second and two out with Alex Rodriguez being the lead runner. I hit a single to center. As soon as I hit the ball. I was determined to send home A-Rod. And I did......here's the throw...here's a sliding A-Rod......and the umpire calls Alex Rodriguez out at the plate to end the game. That was a loss I'll never forget.
sdoyle7798
Was he actually out or was it a blown call? A blown call would make it really bad.
Kriegz
I was beating the White Sox 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th, Wickman makes 2 pitches, the first a solo HR to Jerry Owens, the next a solo shot to Scott Podesednik
Yankee4Life
Was he actually out or was it a blown call? A blown call would make it really bad. You know something? I think I better refer that question to Fuzzone I thought he may have been safe, but I'm biased. :hmph:
