eoq2444
Shouldn't MVP not allow a player to be created with this number considering we'll never see a player with that number in the bigs?
Fastflink2009
I agree but correct me if i'm wrong they still let you put #3 for the yankees and #9 for the red sox. I don't think that EA would go through and outlaw all the retired numbers for each team but they should outlaw
Deathnotronic
I'm about to sound stupid on this...But what is the reasoning #42 is outlawed?
eoq2444
42 was Jackie Robinson's number. It's universally retired...

MarkB
42 was Jackie Robinson's number. It's universally retired... It's retired throughout Major League Baseball, not universally.
ThatsSwan
It's retired throughout Major League Baseball, not universally. its not retired throught out the major leadue because there was like 3 guys wearing that number when they announced it would be retired throughtouth major league baseball but the guys wearing it could still wear it, mo vaughn wore it but he retired, mariano rivera wears it, and i think theres another gut bit im not sure
MarkB
No, it IS retired through Major League Baseball, but the rule has been grandfathered to allow anyone using the number now to finish their careers using it if they wish, THEN, after they retire or are no longer using the number, no-one else will be able to use the number. eoq2444
I mean "Universally" in the sense that it is the one number that is retired on every MLB team...
