eoq2444
Yeah, I'm an astros fan, but I mean, for them to boo Beltran like that was ridiculous...I still like Beltran
Hollywood
Hmmm, Beltran was offered the richest contract in Astros history! The piece of " " needs more than a boo!
AstroEric
What Astros fans are preturbed about isn't that Beltran didn't come back, but that he strung them along until the deadline, knowing (well, with at least Boras knowing) that he wasn't planning on signing in Houston. Houston had a lot of money tied up in that deal, and weren't able to go after, for instance, a lefty middle reliever. --Eric
lautrec
Beltran is a good player - but nothing like the money the Mets just poured all over him, so they could "legitimze" their standing in NY city as a real baseball team who might be able to compete with the Yankees. The Stros, IMHO, were exactly correct to go hard after Beltran, we really excels in fan friendly markets, with decent and caring fans like Houston and Kansas City. He will never be the same player in NY or Bost., say, because the fans there are simply a different variety than a midwest or southwest market. Beltran got his money, but he'll never bcome the Hall of Famer he could have been in KC, Hous, or StL. Until baseball gets fixed like hockey just did, we might as well accept crap like this.
