MVPEdit error, please help!

I keep getting this message: "gfxpak.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It will not open up any pictures of any player so I cannot change their photo. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Also, has anyone had the problem with Brady Clark not having a face in the game?

Okay the Brady Clark problem was just a roster set/photo set miscommunication. But I still have that error in MVPEdit when I allow pictures and faces to be shown, it never used to happen but now it does. I just want to import my own portraits and stuff...someone please help. :wall:

The file size must be too big for gfxpak, I'm pretty sure it has a limit. I have the same problem but it doesn't bother me much since i never work with portraits.

gfxpak has a imit of 3000 files. You have reached that limit. You can still import portraits though. Just use eagraph.exe to import them manually.

Actually that message pops up as soon as I enable pictures, not just when I try to add a picture. Any ideas? :help:

Yes... that's what it does if you have 3,000 files. GFXpak needs to be used to view the pictures in MVPEdit also. Hence you get the error.

In order to fix this, you'd have to open up the portrait.big file with a program like eagraph or biggui and remove some of the portraits you don't need and get the portrait count below 2998. I used biggui to remove unwanted portraits when I was adding portraits for Total Classics.

Why remove portraits? Why not just use eagraph.exe to install the new photos manually?

There's no reason you can't do that. I was just giving him a way to get some "breathing room" if he wanted to be able to see the portraits in MVPEdit and not get the gfxpak error everytime he tried to edit a player.

Ah... I understand. You do know though that you can also view pictures in eagraph too.

How do you manually install a .bmp image in eagraph? I have the photo & the alpha both in bmp

You don't. You need to first convert both bitmaps into one fsh file. I use mvpedit to do this (with a default portrait.big, since it has less than 3000 files)
