Fastflink2009
Tigers Walk Off Baby!!! (Above: Pudge makes a sick catch behind homeplate, Right: Pudge hits a solo HR in the 4th that starts a rally and gives the tigers the lead.) (Above: Dmitri Young hits this 0-2 pitch into the bullpen for a walk off hr, Right: Dmitri is congratulated by Craig Monroe after he touches home plate.) There was a lot of action in today's game. There was stellar defense from Pudge, outstanding offense from Pudge, a blown save, and a walk off homerun from Dmitri Young. The Tigers thought they had it won in the 9th but when Yhency Brazoban was brought in for the save he gave up a first pitch homerun to David Dejesus to tie the game. Of course Nate Robertson was not happy about this because he pitched very well tonight and thought he had a win for his record. Nate said, "Yes, I'm very pissed off right now, but we won, so I can't just think about my self." Nate later told us that we was going to talk with Yhency and tell him not to get down on himself. Runelvys Hernandez also pitched very well for the Royals, only giving up 2 ERs in 7 innings of work. Tonights player of the game is Ivan Rodriguez. Althought Dmitri Young hit the game winning homerun, Pudge had an outstanding game on all ends. Tigers 2-1 Royals 1-2 Hitting Notables: A. Berroa 2-4, 3B I. Rodriguez 3-4, HR, 2 2B, 1 RBI D. Young 1-3, GW HR, 1 RBI Pitching Notables: R. Hernandez 7 IP, 7H, 2 ER M. Wood (L, 0-1) 1 IP, 1H, 1 ER N. Robertson 8 IP, 5H, 1 ER Y. mcoll
excelent and looks like you have the bite back in the tigers tooth. i seen a chance at a divion title coming there way, if not that then diffently a wild card. then who knows. that trade appers to have favord the tigers. more for defence, but its does favor the bite of the tiger. Fastflink2009
Pure Power.... (Above: Brandon Inge hits his 2nd HR of the night, Right: Pudge hits his 2nd HR of the night.) Pure Power is what the Tigers have going for them. There were 7 HRs hit in tonight's game, 6 of them hit by the Tigers. Brandon Inge hit a solo shot in the 2nd inning, Dmitri Young hit a 2 Run shot in the 4th, Pudge hit a solo HR in the 5th, Pudge hit another solo HR in the 7th (Measured at 453 FT!), Brandon Inge hit another solo shot in the 8th, and Carlos Pena hit a solo hr in the 8th. Forgotten in all of this was Edwin Jackson. He had an strong outing, going 7 innings and giving up only 3 runs. Cliff Lee on the other hand, only lasted 5 1/3 innings while giving up 6 runs. The Player of the game award goes to Brandon Inge for his outstanding hitting performance. Tigers 3-1 Indians 1-3 Hitting Notables: V. Martinez 2-4 2B B. Inge 3-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI I. Fastflink2009
Bullpen Blunder (Above: Wilfredo Ledezma follows through after he strikes out a batter, Right: Josh Bard, hits a homerun in the 8th to silence the Tigers, who never regained the lead again.) (Above: Dmitri Young hits a homerun in the 7th to tie the game, Right: Bob Wickman celebrates after getting the save.) Tonight's loss was not set on the shoulders of Wifredo Ledezma, but on Roman Colon's. Ledezma not only pitched a great game, but only gave up one ER in 6 innings of work. Colon came in in the 7th and gave up a run, then gave up 2 in the 8th which was enough to beat the Tigers. Scott Elarton for the Indians pitched great as well, going 7 strong innings and giving up only one run. Bob Wickman came in the 9th and sealed the deal, shutting the Tigers down 1, 2, 3. The Player of the game was Josh Bard, his clutch homerun in the 8th was key for the Indians victory. Tigers 3-2 Indians 2-3 Hitting Notables: J. Bard 1-3, HR, 1 RBI V. Martinez 3-4, 2B, 3B, 1 RBI D. Fastflink2009
Trade Rumors Mike Maroth is very unhappy with his contract and performance and is suspect to a trade. He feels like Detroit is not a good fit for him. The Tigers are low on funds and are trying to unload players with big contracts like Dmitri Young and Carlos Guillen. The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in all 3 of these players and have talked with the Tigers about a trade involving Jimmy Rollins and rookie Ryan Howard. But the Phillies would have to wait 5 days untill Carlos Guillen returns from his minor ACL sprain and then he would be eligible for a trade. Fastflink2009
Manager Speaks Out Manager Alex Lewis spoke out today about Mike Maroth's feelings, "If he wants out then let him go because 1, he isn't producing on the mound, 2, he is a huge distraction to the rest of the team, and 3, we don't want him here because he causes the rest of the Tigers organization to be labeled as whiny, premadonna babys." The Phillies have also added another name into the deal, Brett Myers.
jdoe899
Do you have fair trades on? Brett Myers, Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard for Mike Maroth and Dmitrit Young and Carlos Guillen?
Fastflink2009
Do you have fair trades on? Brett Myers, Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard for Mike Maroth and Dmitrit Young and Carlos Guillen?Yes why? And plus, I haven't even made the trade yet, these are just trade talks. But i am pretty sure that they would accept it b/c of the amount of talent on each side, I use real mania v8.1 rosters so they may have different ratings then what you have on your game. Fastflink2009
Offensive Outburst!!! (Above: Cezar Izturis scores from second on a Carl Crawford drag bunt, Right: Brandon Inge hits a 2 run bomb in the 4th.) (Above: After hitting a 444 ft solo hr in the 5th, Aaron Boone stares in into the Tigers dugout, causing Coco Crisp to get pegged on the next pitch, Right: Travis Hafner jacks a 459 ft 2 run shot in the 5th inning.) (Above: Brandon Inge hits his 2nd hr of the game, a solo shot in the 7th, Right: Carlos Pena hits a 3 run hr in the 8th that put the game out of reach for the Indians.) Today's game involved an outrageous amount of offense. The Tigers hit 3 homers and the Indians hit 2. Jeremy Bonderman got the win, but struggled, going only 5 innings and giving up 5 runs. But it wasn't much better for Jake Westbrook, who went 6 innings while giving up 7 runs. But not all of the runs were scored by homeruns. Carl Crawford bunted in Cezar Izturis to tie the game in the 1st. Omar Infante had a sac fly, and Pudge had a key hit and run to score Carl Crawford from 2nd base. The Player of the game award goes to Brandon Inge. He hit 2 homeruns, giving the tigers the offensive edge they needed to win the game. Tigers 4-2 Indians 2-4 Hitting Notables: C. Crisp 2-4, 2B B. Inge 2-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI C. Crawford 2-4, RBI, 2 SB Pitching Notables: J. Westbrook (L, 1-1) 6.1 IP, 9H, 7 ER J. Bonderman (W, 2-0) 5 IP, 6H, 5 ER Box Score: Next Game: Mike Maroth (DET) (0-1) vs. Brad Radke (MIN) (1-0) Tigers News: Chris Shelton returned from his groin injury today and will start at 1B next game against the Twins More trade talks have been going on. Now they involve the Reds and Austin Kearns, who the Tigers have been looking at to replace slumping Craig Monroe. The Reds have said that they want Monroe and a pretty good pitcher if this trade were to happen. Monroe has not been producing this year, and Manger Alex Lewis and GM Alan Trammel think it may be time for a change in the CF position. If this deal were to take place, Kearns would play RF, Dunn would play LF, and Crawford would play CF.
