camus
I've been installing some faces and everything I've installed works with said player. However, as I usually do, while depleting the created players stats at the beginning of a new dynasty, I've had problems with the created players edit screen crashing. I'm guessing its because of the face. Does anyone know the files in the models.big that correspond to the created player faces? That way I'll just get it off my cd and put overried the models.big file I have now with the new, uncorrupted faces using biggui. I figure they're the 900-915 (or so) faces. I'll try them first to see if that does anything. Any help is very welcomed.
camus
Yeah, there aren't even any files in the c900 range anyway, so that won't work. Any ideas? I really don't want to have to re-do my entire models.big file since I just spent a couple hours on it.

camus
the created faces start at g001.fsh ....etc hope that helps Thanks. I replaced those files and they compressed just fine. Yet, I went back into the game to check the faces, and they crashed. I went back into biggui and 21 different files were uncompressed, and biggui crashes everytime I try to comress them. CAN ANYTHING EVER BE EASY.

I have found that once a file that was originally compressed becomes decompressed it is in fact a corrupted file also. To recompress them therefore doesn't really help resolve the problem. You need to put in a whole new uncorrupted file. One more thing, do you keep your models.big at read only when you are not inserting anything to the models.big? If not, that is what is causing your problem.

I love how the simple solutions are usually the ones I'm too dumb to think of. Lets see if that works! Thanks!
camus
I think that did it. Only now, all of the players I installed cyberfaces for crash in the edit screen. :wall: Thanks for your help guys. Maybe I'll try out smooz's stuff before I do the cyberfaces all over again.

Maybe I'll try out smooz's stuff before I do the cyberfaces all over again. When you installed the cyberfaces, did you make sure they are already compressed? If not, do this before you install using eazip (create a batch file to compress) Just in case you don't know what the batch file should look like, copy this... @ECHO OFF CLS Echo Cyberface Echo. Echo CAUTION: This will compress your cyberface. Echo. pause Echo Please wait... eazip -c *.orl eazip -c *.ord eazip -c *.fsh CLS Echo Successful! pause By.Big Shmooz Then name it as a .bat file. In case you don't know how, just take an already made batch file & erase it's contents & paste the above inside & save it. Also, make sure to have the eazip program & the batch file & the cyberface files you are compressing all in the same folder. Otherwise the compression will not work. Then use eagraph.exe to install. If you do not know how, go to the announcements section on this site in the forums to the sticky thread I authored. In the very first post I give detailed instructions on how to insert cyberfaces using eagraph.exe.
