jpinard
OK, so I'm using Spitoon's mod for pictching and need to make it easier. Thing is I can't tell which way on the slider setting makes it easier/harder. Does setting the number to -50 make it easier or harder to pitch a strike? Thanks! MarkB
Setting it to -50 makes the green zone smaller, +50 makes it larger.
Hollywood
I always get those sliders mixed up. :hic:

Trebor
Problem is even at +50 the green bar is really small
Jim825
Problem is even at +50 the green bar is really small Spitoon's mod does reduce the amount of green, even at higher slider settings. The size will also depend upon the pitcher and his ability to throw certain pitches. If a pitcher throws 4 types of pitches, his 4th best pitch will have a small green area, even without Spitoon's change.
cybernetic
I tried using that datafile and certain pitchers had no green bar at all
NimitsTexan
Yeah, I noticed the same thing with Spitoon's file. What difficulty level and sliders is it intedned for? At All Star with default sliders it seems near impossible to win a game and/or not walk half a dozen people, even with good pitchers.
spitoon
I initially designed it to be played on All-Star, with the pitch difficulty slider at -50...I ended up losing many games that way, so I'd now say that it's better on Pro...I've also adjusted my pitch difficulty slider to around -25. I still think that it offers a great deal of flexibility in conjunction with the pitch meter difficulty slider. Yes, there are still going to be some pitchers with little or no green zone on certain pitches (especially when they tire), but I find it too easy if there is anything more than a sliver of green, I never walk anybody. The biggest problem with the mod is that it makes getting K's very difficult. At stock settings you can get K's at a fairly reasonable rate, but you'll rarely, if ever walk anyone...with the mod (and slider) at a level that results in realistic walk totals (3-4 per game/team) your K numbers drop down. I've managed to get it at a pretty good level for me right now, I'm getting a fairly good number of K's now, though still low, however I'm certainly not walking as many as I should...more than with the stock setting, but still not enough. I've simply decided that it can't be balanced to the level that I'd like it, so I'm satisfied that I've done all I can and I'm prepared to deal with it. It's going to be different for everyone though, I've dealt with people that thought the pitch meter was hard enough without my mod, and others that still claim to never walk anyone even with my mod... NimitsTexan
Hey, thanks for responding. That does clear things up a bit (though, since I play on All-Star, I think I need a positive pitch slider to keep Kerry Wood and Mark Prior from walking 5-6 people every game). Does the mod affect CPU pitching at all?
medric822
What does pitching mg mean, I think that it is mg, its on the game tuning.
ataris812
I use his sliders on All-Star with the slider set at 0. I win the majority of games, but I rarely strike out more than 5 guys a game and actually walk batters on occasion.
