Cool Idea for MVP Baseball

I don't feel like writing out my idea all over again, so I'll just copy + paste the email I sent to EA Sports support (which hasn't responded yet). Here it is:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I believe that I have an excellent and feasible idea for the upcoming MVP Baseball series. I'm sure EA Sports is familiar with "Gameday" on MSN and similar internet applets on websites such as MLB.com or Yahoo.com which provide play-by-play action of virtually any baseball game in the United States. These internet applets provide many detailed bits of information such as pitch type, location, strike, ball, foul, groundout, homerun, etc. Now, I am no computer programmer by any means, but I find it possible to convert an applet's "scripts" to a script interpretable by MVP Baseball, which then could convert everything into a live artificial intelligence game. For example, if Alex Rodriguez is coming up to bat against Johan Santana in real life, the same is happening in the AI game you are viewing on MVP Baseball (delayed by a few minutes of course). And then if Rodriguez hits a homerun to center field, the game does just that.

Basically, this addition to MVP Baseball (specifically the PC version) would allow users to "virtually" watch every baseball game in the United States, and perhaps even switch back and forth between several games. This idea sprang into my mind because I am a die hard Yankee fan, but an Atlanta resident. Unfortunately for me, 2/3 of the Yankee games are not on TV, so I either have to watch an internet applet or miss my game. I think that if this idea is integrated correctly and advertised well, EA Sports will attract many more MVP Baseball fans, and will certainly retain its past buyers. Not to mention, these internet applets are completely free, so the only extra costs for EA Sports would be for the programming, which I have to believe is not too difficult to write when compared to other things the game can do.

I would appreciate any further questions EA Sports may have pertaining to this idea, and I hope this email is going to the best possible location. Thank you for your time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S.

I'm not sure as to the exact difficulty of this procedure, but I know there are some experienced modders here, so I was just throwin the idea out there...

Please, don't speak such horrible things. " This idea sprang into my mind because I am a die hard Yankee fan, but an Atlanta resident"

jeez guys, it seems that nobody here has heard of loopholes, not to mention the possibility of a release before the agreement takes place.

if mvp 06 or something involving ea sports WITH the major leagues, then you will all owe me 10 billion dollars.

What I find funny about all this, is the lamenting that EA Sports has no future license ! Dear oh dear, how short peoples memories are! The horrendous (and at the time, justifiable) complaints when the product FIRST came out, about shoddy programming, unrealistic gameplay, forcing the opurchase of obscure game controllers for the PC version, basic roster and player capability errors, graphic errors et al........ALL of these complaints were DOMINATING this same website in the early days!

In other words, the typically shoddy work that EA has ALWAYS been associated with when it launches a new "Simulation" product onto an unsuspecting pc software buying market that has been duped by false product reviews from reviewers that, quite frankly, would appear to have either been drunk when they reviewd the product, or even taking payoffs ????

Let's be honest; it ISN'T until MVP 2005 that EA ACTUALLy came up with a product that was ALMOST realistic, with VIABLE gameplay, and TRULY in-program editing options! It took them 3 years before they got it ALMOST right, and in the meantime they milked us, the suckers of the software buying public out of millions in revenue!

Frankly, I am glad that they will not be associated with basbeall for the foreseeable future. With regard to roster updates etc, I feel certain that the many EXCELLENT modders here will ensure, at least for the foreseeable future, that rosters, graphics etc are available for the next couple of seasons. This is at least ONE baseball fan who is NOT going to cry into his milk over EA no longer being associated with this wonderful sport!

but they wudnt...and if the liscensing hasnt taken effect..how come there are no more roster updates and patches?

I have been thinking about that myself for a while. A theory of mine is, because perhaps they are devoting all their time to indeed releasing a new baseball game by jan 1st.

"I have been thinking about that myself for a while. A theory of mine is, because perhaps they are devoting all their time to indeed releasing a new baseball game by jan 1st."-or there is no financial incentive to release any more updates. Money is money. And they won't make anymore by helping us out from this point on.
