Trebor
Usually by now most people jump on the overhyped Madden bandwagon, But I am still enjoying this game a lot. I think the developers did a great job, the gameplay is tight and very challenging, My only complaint is the stadium creator was a bit disappointing. It's unfortunate that this will be the last version. My hats off to the EA development team on this game.

UncleMo
I do the money saving thing. Just bought Madden 05 and am slowly learning it. Haven't been into Madden since Madden 64 on Nintendo. MVP, though, has not been so fun lately. I think it is because I'm modding too much and I'm winning too much. If I win too much, there is no thrill or excitement. I need to increase my difficulty level, which I will be doing this week as I'm starting the playoffs. I do agree with you, it IS a great game- still. It is an amazing game thanks to the other modders.
mroctober430
If I still had MVP on PS2, I'd probably quit by now. As I have it for PC, and have all these great mods, the game been great. I been bored with it as, most of my dynasties fail. But with fixed rosters and everything I'm doing, MVP will be great. AWESOME GAME STILL. Trebor
Yes I play the PC version and the mods have really made this game much more enjoyable, As for Madden 06 I for the PC I am out of luck since it will not support Windows ME!... Sidewinder
Still playing the PC version. About a month ago, I learned how to hit HRs by hitting up and to the inside on the Dpad/stick. Suddenly, I am hitting HRs much more. I play on the Allstar level with the Angels usually. Hit 4 HRs in one game with Vlad. Before discovering how to really go deep, I had low scoring games most of the time. My pitching has always been strong with very low ERA's which arent realistic. I steal alot. More so than normal probably unless there is a very good catcher, than the AI wont allow me to get a good enough jump to steal the bag. My winning pct. is too high, around .700 into the middle of August on my Angel Dynasty on Allstar level, mostly due to stealing alot of bases and being able to pitch well. I dont make many bad pitches to get burned on over the plate even with the pitch meter mod to make it tougher. I might start playing some games on MVP level to see what happens now. The overall gameplay is great though. The double play interaction at 2B this year is outstanding as is the pitcher covering 1B, especially compared to 2k4 for both. Cutoffs need to be more responsive on a moments notice. I slowed down the Outfielder speed sliders to -5 and the Infielder Speed to -35 and I am getting very realistic results on the fielding. If only the Pitcher wouldnt catch the majority of balls around him. I love all the stadiums mods. That is my favorite thing to enhance the game. I also really enjoy the classic stadium mods with the old ads. Very cool. The ability to actually OEdit stadiums and their structures is incredible. What PaulW did with his Ebbetts Field is outstanding. I dont have the ability or patience to get into stadium modding myself, so I rely on those wonderful modders to pick me up. A BIG Thank You to all of you! I like the uniform, batting glove, shoes, etc. mods. Having the opportunity to download and update rosters including oldtime rosters is another great feature of MVP. I havent done any modding myself and dont have the patience to do any installs that are complicated(faces, sound, etc), so I havent installed those Mods that dont have easy installs. I would ask that the Modders would do easier installs where possible with batch files, so I and others like me would have access to your great work. I have alot of fun with the HR derby head to head and the batting mini game.
big shmooz
This is the last version? Indeed it seems to be, as EA will lose the major league & MLBPA license on Dec. 31st. So unless they have a surprise in mind to release a new game by Dec. 31st... this is it for EA's game.

Well... as far as the sound added for players names, it does come with an install file. As far as cyberfaces, uniforms & portraits, they also come with installers. & if you don't want to install cyberfaces or uniforms or both all individually as they come out, that's what my mod offers for you. & installation could not be easier. All you do is extract the files to your main mvp folder & everything goes where it's supposed to.
UncleMo
and you said "I havent done any modding myself and dont have the patience to do any installs that are complicated(faces, sound, etc), so I havent installed those Mods that dont have easy installs. " look into my music mod in which all you do is put a file in a folder, no install, no brains needed. it is called "CHANT MOD MADE EASY!" If you can't install that, you can't install anything. Sidewinder
Ahhh very good. The faces and portraits I had looked at previouly seemed to be alot more complicated to install. Didnt know it had gotten easier. Thanks guys.

cybernetic
I'm still having fun and am not winning too much.. the problem I've been finding lately is flaws in the game such as today there was a grounder up the middle that went by the pitcher and rolled pass the shortstop and was ruled an error although the shortstop couldn't reach it and the whole thing with sac. bunts being ruled as at-bats is really annoying.. so what I do now is don't even attempt to sac. bunt

I may be wrong in this, but as I said, I never noticed that. But I would sacrifice anyway when it's appropriate, because even if a batters bating average goes down because of it, it's more important in my mind to do the thing that may win me the game. (which is the bottom line anyway)
cybernetic
every time I do one it said something like "(whoever) trying to bunt for a hit here" or "the batter couldnt lay down a good enough bunt to get a hit in that situation, that's just unacceptable" and the majority of the time I bunt right back to the pitcher as part of a hit-and-run situation so the other guy/guys on base dont get thrown out
