GM Who...?

nationals_awaypatch_2005 Former AAA Mets pitcher Todd

Fiegle has been annouced as the successor to Jim Bowden, the interim GM

for the Nationals. Fiegle has also annouced that Joe RIzzi will be his

assitant GM for the Washington Nationals.

"This is a very talented ballclub with plenty of playoff potential"

Fiegle said, he also promised some changes in the way the Nationals

would look as a team. Rizzi commented on how the team would select

players saying "Look for a combo of Larussa and Beane on our team."

Taking up on his promise Fiegle has made key offseason moves such

as trading RHP Zach Day and J.J Davis for RBI machine Preston

Wilson."We think that (Wilson) will bring a little right handed pop to our

lineup" commented Fiegle. The GM has also signed LF Jose Guillen to a

lucrative 2 year 3.40 million dollar deal.

D.C. fans believe that together the tandom will bring the nations

capital a World Series title.

Washington Nationals Scouting Report

RF Jose Guillen: 28 year old has a strong bat and arm will be working for an extention on his 2y $3.40m deal.

CF Brad Wilkerson: 27 year old will only get better, and needs a strong year to get a new deal.

3B Vinny Castilla: 37 year old has lost a step and will probably be traded for younger prospects, but has a large deal(2y@$2.90m).

1B Nick Johnson: Very good defender with a decent bat, will likely return as he has 1y left on his contract.

2B Jose Vidro: The 30 year old is a decent middle infielder and will be hard to trade due to a large 4y $7.30m deal.

CF Preston Wilson: Always seems to produce alot of RBI, the 30 year old is looking for a new contract.

LF Ryan Church: In Baseball America's Top 100 prospects, will be fighting for a position against Preston Wilson.

SS Christian Guzman: The 27 year old switch hitter is looking for a breakout season at short.

LF Tremmel Sledge: The 28 year old prospect is very fast and will look to earn a starting position this year.

2B Junior Spivey: 30 year old is on the downside of his career, can still produce at 2nd Base.

C Brian Schneider: 28 year old knows how to handle a young pitching staff, is fighting for a new contract.

Long Relief Jon Rauch(RHP): Huge 26 year old is looking to earn a spot in the rotation, and a new contract.

Long Relief T.J. Tucker(RHP): Tucker is looking to improve his deal, a long reliever with some potential.

Midde Relief Mike Stanton(LHP): 37 year old reliever is in his last year as a Nat, likely to be traded mid-season.

Middle Relief Gary Majewski(RHP): Very good young pitching prospect can very well be an important set up man for Chad Codero.

Middle Relief Jacobo Sequea(RHP): The 23 year old may see limited time in the pros, has the potential to be great.

Set-Up Luis Ayala(RHP): Very good young reliever is fighting for a new contract.
