cybernetic
I just hit a solo homer with Gregg Zaun in the HHH Metrodome in Minnesota against the Twins.. now the ball fell off those bleaches in RF and somehow it was ruled an error on Lew Ford and no home run credited in the box score. He's not even credited with a hit at all.

cybernetic
Yeah it really baffled me.. I mean if you know the Metrodome they have those bleachers above the field with the ads there in RF and it hit off those and then fell back on the field.. somehow Lew Ford dropped the ball after that and they called it an error

riker147
Although I've never seen that particular "error", I have seen this type of thing happen in the game alot. An example of what happened to me is, a hit to the outfield was clearly a legitimate single, the outfielder bobbled the ball, there was no advance by the runner but it was a still ruled an error with no hit being credited to the batter. A little aggravating but I guess we have to live with it.
cybernetic
yeah that happens a good deal of the time to me but a home run that fell back on the field ruled an error?
cb
Hmm, this reminds me of when Canseco had the fly ball hit off his head and over the fence. Was that ruled a hit or error? I can't remember, lol.
