sw4747
Well, this was a first for me and something that you don't see to often! I pitched a no-hitter, and lost. 1st inning, 1st batter reaches 1st on an error (SS threw the ball away) and the runner advance to second on that throw. Next batter bunted the runner over to 3rd. Next batter sac fly, run scored. After that, no hits for the other team (White Sox, I was the Yankees). So they had 1 run on no hits. I could not score a run to save my live. 2 times had a runner on 3rd, but nothing! I ended yup with 5 hits. so, there you have it, pitched a NO HITTER and LOST. AstroEric
The first major league pitcher to pitch a no-hitter and still lose was Ken Johnson of the Colt .45s. --Eric

mooseknucks
A Yankee pitcher did that once. Pitched a no-no and lost 2-0. :lmao: How embarassing!

jg2977
A Yankee pitcher did that once. Pitched a no-no and lost 2-0. :lmao: How embarassing! The score was actually 4-0. Andy Hawkins was the pitcher. Jim Leyritz and Jesse Barfield both dropped fly balls in the 8th inning. The game was in 1990 at Old Comiskey Park against the Chicago White Sox. I remember that game because I listened to it on the radio at the local swimming pool.
Superjolly
In the game, I pitched a perfect game with John Patterson of the Nationals against the Cubs (struck Derrick Lee out twice) and give up a blooper single in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs. I almost smashed my computer!
cybernetic
I was thowing a no hitter into the bottom of the 9th and after an error by the shortstop on a routine groundball that would've ended it, the pitcher lost his control completely and I couldn't hit the corners for the life of me and eventually he allowed 3 straight hits and was pulled for the closer who blew the save and forced extras where I lost

AstroEric
That Andy Hawkins game has it's own Score 91 baseball card, if I remember correctly. --Eric
Superjolly
so you didn't pitch a perfect game?? :[naughty word]: Yeah yeah that is what I meant to say. I came 1 out away. And then on the next start by Patterson, I threw another game that would have been a perfect game except for one stupid hit up the middle in the bottom of the 8th. I bet I could find it if I scoured my card collection back home.
