HarleyRider
Does anyone know how to make the umpire calls louder? I have adjusted the in-game options but it just doesn't get it. Maybe there's a file to edit. (?) Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Cheers!!!

Tacoman
To make the ump's call louder, would we increase the number or decrease? And also, what would be a good increase (or decrease)... .05 or more than that? Taco

HarleyRider
Just for those of you who might be curious, I did some testing and found that the best umpire volume setting, at least for me, is: 0.80. You can definately hear him now! Try it and see what you think. (Once again, thanks for the info Trues! :hail:) Cheers!!!
big shmooz
I am wondering if there is a maximum volume. If it can go beyond 250. Because the PA announcer is set to 250 & I would like him to be louder. Also I noticed that #28 has to do with umpvolume too. Perhaps that is when the umpire calls safe or out or foul ball? I went into the datafile & read the descriptions that are given directly above the numbers. For instance in this particular case, crowd chant was listed as number 4. I am assuming that the "chop" is a crowd chant.

It is located in Game DirectoryDataDatafileDatafile.big Open datafile.big in bigGUI, extract datafile.txt to desktop, edit it, then import it back in with bigGUI, compress it, and rebuild, at it should work fine. Friedman
Are sure about rebuilding the datafile.big jfriedman? You know, I'm not 100% sure, but once when I did not rebuild it, the game crashed. When I did rebuild it, the game worked fine, with the changes to the datafile. Since it worked fine, whenever I work with a .big file,(with the exception of models.big-unclemo said not to) I rebuild it when I'm done.

This file is litterally thousands of pages long when I open it with ms word. I haven't been able to find the ump file yet. This might be because I've used a few audio mods which may have screwed up my datafile. Can you guys tell me where you found your ump numbers? Hollywood
I'm not 100% sure either. I ran into problems before rebuilding some of the .bigs (can't remember which ones) so I just stay away from the button. No problems yet.....knock on wood...... As I write this I'm installing almost all the cybers on here since I'm starting a new dynasty. I know I'm going to run into problems but I'll keep my fingers crossed. But I can't start until Horys new Astro portraits comes out! :)
