I changed all kinds of things, umps louder, crowd louder(cheer and booing), heckling lounder, chants louder, etc....

It sounds great now. Game 7 of the world series all the time now.

WHat did u change exactly. I want my game to sound like that. What do i change. If you can help that would be great cuz after modding so many faces i just wanna play the damn thing. lol

This tells you what each means, look at the number and change the appropriate section in the numbers below. I changed mostly the crowd loudness. Can't remember exactly all the changes but my numbers are at the bottom of this post.

Very simple. I went into the datafile & read the descriptions that are given directly above the numbers. For instance in this particular case, crowd chant was listed as number 4. I am assuming that the "chop" is a crowd chant.

How do u make this changes in data file? Like how to change to umpire to speak louder? Like which file do i go to and what do i have to do there?

You have to either download a dafile.txt that somebody uploaded or extract your own from the datafile.big (which is located in your datafile folder)

Then you need a program to open the datafile.txt with.

I will link you to the program in this post so you can download it.

Download this. Extract this file to your data folder (where you are also going to place your datafile.txt) Then run the file. It will ask you if you want to decompress your datafile.txt. Say yes, choose what method you want to read the resulting datafileedit.txt in. Then make your adjustments in the datafileedit.txt & then save & import it back into you datafile.txt.

That's it, you're good to go.

shmooz, I always decompress my datafile in biggui, export it to my desktop, edit it, import it back in through biggui, decompress.

Anyone else do this?

I am not saying you can't do it, but it is a waste of time. If you simply leave it in the data folder you can edit it at any time without having to do all those steps. There is no advantage to putting it back into the datafile, so why bother?

Got a question for you now. I was reading Ron Rodkey datafile readme and there is a change that I want to make.

He wrote,

"Lastly, I'll mention where you can adjust the delay between pitches: 4 54<pitcher> Here you'll see that there is a timing value for the delay between pitches. Example: 29 Delay_CPU_Pitching_CPU_Batting This sets the time between pitches when the CPU is pitching and the CPU is batting. Increase the value for a longer delay. Decrease for a shorter delay. Take it down too low and the CPU pitcher will fire the next pitch as soon as he gets it. I adjusted the delay for most of these, but they can all be re-set to default in about 5 minutes."

I want to speed up my game time so I want to make the delay between computer pitches less.

Any idea what I'm missing? I know I have to make the number smaller to speed things up but I don't have a number to start with.

The item #29 has no value. That item acts basically as a "title" for the items that follow. In other words: 29 Delay_CPU_Pitching_CPU_Batting means that the items immediately following affect the delay when the CPU is pitching and the CPU is batting.

Therefore, beginning with item #30, you can change the values for the different situations.

Like this: 30 SameBatter_NoRunners

This sets the delay time when you have the same batter up from the previous pitch AND there are no runners on base. For realism, this delay should be the shortest because the batter is the same and there is no runner to pay attention to.

Then go to the next situation: 31 SameBatter_WithRunners

This is for when the batter is still the same as the pitch before, but there are now runners on base. So, for realism, the delay for this situation should be longer because now the pitcher has runners to pay attention to.

See how it works? You'll need to decrease the value for each situation if you want to speed the game up overall.

Got the pitch delays to speed up.

It usually takes me about 30 min to play a game. Now it should take about 20 min I think. Speeds it up without losing anything from the game play.
