Cyber's Jays Dynasty v2.0

cybernetic

Recommended Posts

Basically my last dynasty file became corrupt and wouldn't let me play any games without freezing so I'm going to start a new dynasty possibly later on tonight but more likely tomorrow. I'm going to use UR v2.54 with all the recent trades made including the Christiansen to the Angels one today. I will use my Jays CAPs for minor leaguers and my current tweaks to Jays players to make them more realistic.. including correct pitches for all pitches, contact/power tweaked for players such as Aaron Hill, appearances tweaked, only face set used with by Jogar's Jays set, etc. All Jays players contracts also adjusted to be correct.

Settings:

All-star difficulty

Fielding: assisted

All dynasty settings default including fair trades on, budget on, etc.

Strike zone: ON

Hot cold/zones: OFF

Sliders:

CPU runner aggression (5) - adds more collisions/players thrown out at the plate

CPU OF speed -10

CPU dive rate - 10 (lowers amount of diving catches)

Foul ball rate 50

I forget which other tweaks I had from the last dynasty as far as the slider

Halladay Starts Season Off the Right Way

Toronto Blue Jays 2, Tampa Bay Devil Rays 0

0404014ye.jpg0404023sw.jpg

Above: Orlando Hudson slides in safely with an RBI double to open the scoring in the 2nd.

Right: Vernon Wells hits a solo HR in the 6th.

icon_tor.gif 04/04/05 -- Roy Halladay was in complete control all game en route to a complete game three-hit shutout of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the season opener for both teams. Halladay didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning (a lead-off single to Travis Lee). He would be left stranded on third after a strikeout and a couple of ground outs ended the threat. Halladay would strike out the side in the 7th and didn't allow another hit until the 8th which was also a lead-off single. He was erased on a double play though by the next batter. Carl Crawford doubled with 2-out in the 9th for the Devil Rays third hit and was also stranded, this time on a ground out by Julio Lugo. The Jays got the scoring started in the 2nd after Corey Koskie singled to lead off the inning, Orlando Hudson drove him in on an RBI-double into the left field corner to go up 1-0. Vernon Wells added a solo home run in the 6th with one out to make it 2-0 and that was all Halladay needed as he went the distance allowing just three hits and struck out seven.

Outlook: The Jays will send Ted Lilly to to the hill tomorrow against fellow lefty Scott Kazmir in the middle game of the three game set. The final game will see Dave Bush face off with Casey Fossum. With all 3 games in the series set to be against lefty starters, it's likely that the Jays will mix up the lineup a few times to get some of their lefty batters in there at least for a game a piece.

Lilly, Jays Make it 2-0

Toronto Blue Jays 3, Tampa Bay Devil Rays 1

0405017pi.jpg0405026gb.jpg

Above: Shea Hillenbrand drives in the 2nd Jays run on a bloop double to RF in the 7th.

Right: Rocco Baldelli puts the Devil Rays on the board with solo HR in the 7th.

icon_tor.gif 04/05/05 -- The Jays got things started very quickly with a lead-off single from Russ Adams whole stole second base on the second pitch to Alex Rios and then scored on an RBI single by him later in the at-bat. Ted Lilly would mow the Devil Rays down from there on pitching six scoreless innings before the Jays gave him a little more run support. Aaron Hill led-off the 7th inning with a single and scored on a Shea Hillenbrand bloop double that was dumped into right field. Hillenbrand would later score on an RBI single from Reed Johnson to make it 3-0. The Devil Rays would get a run back as Rocoo Baldelli took a high Ted Lilly fastball out of the park in the bottom of the frame to make it 3-1. Lilly would get out of the inning without further damage and that would be all for him as he went seven innings allowing just a run on five hits. He walked no one and struck out eight Devil Rays on the night. Justin Speier then pitched a three-pitch eighth inning getting all three batters he faced to ground out. Miguel Batista then came in to pitch the ninth inning to get his first save of the season, allowing just a two-out single to Baldelli and striking out a pair. Lilly would get the win (1-0) while Scott Kazmir got the loss (0-1). Kazmir went seven and two-thirds innings allowing all three Blue Jay runs on nine hits while walking no one and striking out five. Dave Coggin pitched the final inning a third allowing no hits and striking out a pair of batters.

Injuries: Jays third baseman Corey Koskie left the game in the third inning after making a diving play on a B.J. Upton grounder. He managed to throw from his knees to first but was not in time as the throw was a bit high and Hillenbrand had to jump off the base to catch it. On the play, his face collided with the dirt near third base and he left in a lot of a pain. X-rays revealed a slight fracture to his nose and he is expected to miss the next three days. He should be available for the second game of the series this weekend against the Boston Red Sox. Aaron Hill will play at third base while he is out of the lineup.

Outlook: Dave Bush will face lefty Casey Fossum in the finale of the series as the Jays go for a three-game sweep tomorrow night. The Jays will then head home to welcome the Boston Red Sox for a three-game weekend set.

I think I figured out the problem was that I installed a cyberface mod that didn't work right and the dynasty didn't recognize it. It did not change any face numbers but replaced an existing one and as far as I know it does not work at all.

You seem to be having more success in your dynasty than me. I'm almost through May and I'm hovering around .500... My pitching was horrible below Lilly and Halladay. SO I kept Chacin, DFA'd Towers (called up Marcum), and traded Bush along with 2 prospects to LA for Jeff Weaver.

I hope you have better luck then me :p

I dont want to do that because the CPU doesnt know how to manage the bullpen at all and leaves guys in there far too long and tends to pull guys after 5 innings (starters).. they also dont have the control I do with the pitching on the mound and everything. I'd rather play myself since in the other one I got off to a pretty bad start offensively and guys are hovering around the mendonza line (.200) in late May

Jays Complete Sweep of D-Rays

Toronto Blue Jays 3, Tampa Bay Devil Rays 0

0406016cq.jpg0406025es.jpg

Above: Vernon Wells hits an opposite field solo HR to open the scoring in the 7th.

Right: Reed Johnson slides in ahead of the tag on a Gregg Zaun RBI single later in the same inning.

icon_tor.gif 04/06/05 -- The game started out as an all-out pitching duel with Bush and Fossum exchanging scoreless innings. The game was still scoreless despite the Jays outhitting the Devil Rays 6-3 through six innings. Vernon Wells would get the scoring started with a solo HR(2) with one-out in the seventh inning which opening the hitting parade for the Jays. Aaron Hill would single and be caught stealing with Reed Johnson at the plate. Johnson would hit a single and was then followed with a single from Eric Hinske to put two on for Gregg Zaun. Zaun delivered with a base-hit to left-fielder Joey Gathright to plate to Johnson and Orlando Hudson followed with a base-hit up the middle to plate Hinske to make it 3-0. Zaun would be thrown out trying to score from first to end the frame. Dave Bush would pitch a scoreless bottom of the 7th and be lifted after the inning. He went seven strong allowing just three hits, no runs, walked no one and struck out three. Devil Rays started Casey Fossum stayed out for the 7th and allowed a lead-off basehit to Russ Adams who would be caught stealing. He would then get Alex Rios to line out before being lifted for right-hander Dave Coggin who came in to face Vernon Wells. Wells was retired on a deep fly out to the wall to end the inning. Jason Frasor came in to the pitch the bottom of the inning for the Jays and struck out the side despite allowing a two-out base hit to Toby Hall. The Jays got a couple men on against Coggin in the ninth but they were left stranded. Miguel Batista would come in to pick up the save for the Jays in the bottom of the inning and he was succesful allowing a hit but no runs to score. He also struck out Jorge Cantu. Dave Bush picked up the win (1-0) while Casey Fossum got the loss (0-1). Fossum went seven and two-thirds innings allowing three runs on nine hits while walking no one and striking out four batters. With the win, the Jays completed a three game sweep of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and improved to 3-0 on the season while Tampa falls to 0-3. Following, an off-day tomorrow, the Jays head home to for a weekend series against the Boston Red Sox in their home opener. Expected starters for the Jays are Gustavo Chacin (NR), Josh Towers (NR) and Roy Halladay (1-0).

Game notes: Gregg Zaun's single in the 7th was the first basehit by a Jays catcher this season ending an 0-for-10 start to the season for Jays backstops. Frank Catalanotto had just his first at-bat of the season tonight as the Jays have faced all lefty starters so far to start the season. He will probably get a start in the opener against Boston.

Injuries: Corey Koskie (fractured nose) - 2 days left
