big shmooz
This is taken from a read me for installing gloves. Plus a detailed explanation by bigbully. (plus a bit of detail added by myself) Substitute the catchers gear file bmp number instead of the glove bitmap number.... Here's the "correct" way to do it...extract the .fsh file (from models.big) you want to change. Open the .fsh w/nfshtool (right-click, open with). This creates a folder w/all files and their alpha. Then you can put whatever shoe/glove you want in and rename it to the proper file you're overwriting. IMPORTANT - w/nfshtool, this must be a 24 bit bmp. Also, some files you're importing may be a different size, for instance...a stock shoe is 128x64, but many modded shoes are 256x128. If this is the case, after you put the new file in the created folder, right click on index.fsh and open with notepad. Find the corresponding # of the modded file you're looking for - it will have the stock size of 128x64 - you'll need to change it to 256x128 (if this is the correct size). Once this is done, save the notepad file and then open the index file again but this time w/nfshtool - this will "repack" your .fsh file. Then you can import it back into the game via batch or FuzZ's, soon to be released, Studio. I know this is a lot of information - remember...ALWAYS back up your original files before attempting to mod them. The easiest way to learn nfshtool is to use it and learn from your mistakes. when you use nfshtool, it creates a folder for the uniform you "unpacked". If you look, make sure you have thumbnails view, there will be 2 batting glove files. Select the Nike gloves you want, copy and paste them into the folder nfshtool created. Notice what the files are named (in the folder, probably something like 0003.bmp. remember which is which, then delete them. Now rename the Nike gloves you pasted in there to 0003.bmp Once this is done, right-click on the index.fsh file and open with nfshtool - this will rebuild your uniform file.
