yukon2k
i've sifted through about 10 pages of crash posts, but didn't find a solution. i exported my customized roster from mvp edit into the game and started the game just fine. i reset the rosters, double-checked that all of the rosters and lineups were right for each team, and set up a new dynasty with seattle as my team. i tried to sim a month, but the game crashed to the desktop and when i clicked on the shortcut icon or tried to start the game by auto run in the cd, nothing happened. i restored my computer to the previous day, double-checked my rosters again, started the game, reset the rosters, and started a new dynasty. this time i thought i would sim one series at a time to see what team was causing the problem. it was KC. i got out of the game and went back into mvpedit, completely cleared the rotation & lineup screens and re-entered the lineups and rotation for KC. i then went back into the game, reset the rosters, everything like before and checked to make sure the kc rosters and rotation was right. it was. i then simmed the first game of the series: seattle vs kc. it simmed fine. when i tried to sim/play the 2nd game of the series, it crashed to the desktop and every time i tried to start the game after that, i'd get the microsoft error reporting screen and the game wouldn't start. i restored my pc back to the day before and tried again - same results. when i tried to start the game by going into windows explorer and the game cd icon, it would get to about the loading screen, then crash and give me the error sending message again. i have numerous modded uniforms, stadiums, and portraits, but they seemed to work fine in the 4 simmed games previous to the crash, so i don't think that was a problem. i thought, because the game crashed with different starting pitchers, that there may be a problem with felix hernandez or zack greinke, but i entered the portrait number for hernandez in mvpedit and re-exported the roster to the game. i ran this game perfectly when it initially came out ( with all of my added mods included) but i had to reformat my hard drive, re-install windows xp, and re-install the game and mods and have had problems ever since. i have the latest ati video drivers, sound blaster, directx, etc drivers installed. help please
Roscosuper
I don't know if I can offer advice, but, my game crashed a lot and I couldn't figure out why....of course, I thought it was the models.big file, but that was eventually ruled out.....however, what I noticed was, if my computer was in the process of reading the drives, my game would crash if I was atempting to play a game.....now, if I let the computer finish its cycle, the game would play through.........I don't understand any of it, but it works for me......the reason I'm telling you this, is because your post sounds a lot like what I was going through.......maybe this would work for you, maybe not........probably not, but give it a try, it shouldn't get any worse....I hope....anyway, good luck
big shmooz
The problem can be so many things, you have to narrow it down. My first suggestion would be, try playing in exhibition & see if the game crashes. If it does, then start from scratch. Uninstall the game. Delete any folders the hard drive retains. (both your main & secondary MVP 2005 folders) Then reboot & reinstall the game. Try to play a game & see if it works. If it does, add a mod. Play again, test the game using the mod you added & see if it works. If it does, add another one. Test the game using that one. Etc... Till you find the culprit. jogar84
Sometimes the game crashes for me when i have other programs running or Biggui open. So close those background app's.
