I gained at least 20% extra performance and the card only costs around $150. Semptron 2200 256Mb DDR RAM Using 3danalyze 2.0 1024x768x32 all graphics on. Almost no stuttering. Sure it may be 32 mb but it's run some pretty modern games (css , mvp baseball 2005 , madden 2006) without problem. (I did get AOE3 though , and it threatened me that my card did not meet minimum requirements but I went ahead anyways and had no problems.)
