ixcuincle
Every Friday I will try to provide a glimpse of what is going on in "the national's first year" and if they have rectified their offensive struggles which have plagued them for the first 9 games. This week the Washington Nationals had a record of 3 - 7 , being swept by the Phillies and losing 2 of 3 to the Marlins and Braves , respectively. The Nationals last game to date ended in a 5-4 win in 23 innings. The Nationals , in an effort to try to fix their anemic offense , engaged in a rapid free agent signing movement. Multiple players from the free agent pool (mode was based on one of this site's rosters which apparently put all currently injured players as free agents , leaving Barry Bonds and Bobby Crosby as "free agents") were signed by the Nationals. These quick signings included Juan Gonzalez , Dallas McPherson , and Rocky Baldelli, to name a few. Nationals Starting Lineup : LF Brad Wilkerson 1B Nick Johnson CF Juan Gonzalez RF Jose Guillen 2B Jose Vidro SS Junior Spivey 3B Vinny Castilla C Brian Schneider Pitcher Current Rotation : Livan Hernandez Esteban Loiaza John Patterson Nate Bump Tony Armas Jr.
